Megan is experienced with art, design, healthcare, and technology projects where she combines content and narrative strategy with sensitivity. As a producer, podcast operations specialist she has worked with Epic Digital (now part of Vox), KALW, and Radiotopia. On the commercial side, she has worked with Genentech, Roche, Hachette Audio, Epsilon, and GE Digital. Award-winning podcasts projects include launching Ear Hustle, The Stoop, The Intersection, and Closer Than They Appear (AJ Media Network). She was an Associate Producer for David Sedaris' audiobook, "Theft by Finding." She has been a narrator/voiceover for corporate podcasts, and her voice can be heard briefly in the intro to "10 Letters for the President" on 99% Invisible podcast, and she was the host for "Modern Polaroid Love Story" - an hour long public radio documentary. For three years Megan was a regional producer for The Moth in the Bay Area. There she produced 75 total sold-out live storytelling events, including GrandSLAM shows at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco. She was also a mentor at Matter, a design-thinking accelerator for media startups. Megan has been a guest speaker and instructor on storytelling and digital content at companies, universities, and conferences, including IDEO, Google, University of California at Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, Designers + Geeks, The 3% Conference, FABERNOVEL, Digital Summit, San Francisco State University and more. Shaandiin Tome is a filmmaker from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Trained as an editor and cinematographer, she is a 2016 Sundance Full Circle Fellowship alumna, 2016 Sundance Programming Intern, and in May 2017, she was selected for the Sundance Native Filmmaker’s Lab Fellowship with her short film project Mud (Hashtl’ishnii). After making Mud (Hashtl’ishnii) it was selected to premiere in Competition at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and is currently traveling the world on the film festival circuit. A recent graduate of the University of New Mexico with a BFA in Film and Digital Media Production, she graduated cum laude and through her filmmaking passion hopes to continue her career creating art. She currently lives in Albuquerque, aiming to bring resonating imagery in convergence with story, illustrating her perspective as a Diné woman.

I am a professional visual journalist, have been for more than 20 years. I began my career as a staff photographer at newspapers in the American West, at a time when papers still had darkrooms and photographers still processed their own film. In 1998, my wife, author Karen Coates, and I moved to Cambodia. There, I shot news, features and investigative stories for Agence France-Presse, The New York Times, The Cambodia Daily and dozens of magazines. We have since combined our talents on numerous projects examining under-reported stories across Asia and beyond, with particular focus on environment, health and social issues. For the past eight years, we have documented the widespread effects of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Laos. Our book, Eternal Harvest: The Legacy of American Bombs in Laos, was published by ThingsAsian Press in 2013. Recently I added HD video work to my high-quality still image repertoire. I am a Senior Fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University and was a 2012-2013 Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the Center for Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
