The NewsDox unit of BlueChalk produced the Living City series in collaboration with The New York Times video department and metro desk. The six-part series looks at a range of major New York city and state infrastructure projects, from subways to waterways, waste management to steam systems. “Living City: A Tale of Two Bridges” compares the decision to replace the 60-year-old Tappan Zee Bridge con 1 munute cut of this Iberia Bank commercial shot in Lafayette and New Orleans, Louisiana. A combination of real people and hired talent. Fifteen year old Rhett Williams has just learned how to weave traditional Houma baskets brought back from the edge of extinction by tribal elder and celebrated weaver Janie Luster. He shows us how he forages Palmetto and prepares the leaves for weaving. Janie recognizes Rhett's talent and spark. With the impending loss of their ancestral homeland to industry and climate change on their minds, both Durell Montgomery is a self identified cowboy from Detroit, Michigan. His dream is to start a therapeutic riding center within the city limits. Two James Spirits Distillery and Johnny Noodle King Restaurant, both family owned businesses in the city, teamed up to tell his story and raise funds to help make his dream come true. Compilation of projects Reporte Unidad is news platform design by the "Mesa de la Unidad Democratica" (Political Oposition Coalition against PSUV and the Venezuelan Goverment) Short documentary for the Culinary Institute of Caracas (ICC) When the Earth Moves reclaims the authentic story and original vision of Earth Day as a bipartisan and socially just environmental movement and highlights the need for people across generations and on both sides of the political aisle to play an active part. It also calls attention to the urgent need for Americans to unite around a common goal and purpose. Cuba is trapped in the past, but its people have so much hope for the future, so much drive to keep going, even in the face of many social problems. A better representation of this feeling was to have a mix of both B&W and Color, highlighting certain areas of the frame in B&W while keeping the beautiful colors of this amazing place. Having this mix plus the beautiful soundtrack reinforces that feeling of Nostalgia that possesses the city, and seeing the people go on with their daily lives, their faces, and how they keep moving forward, represents the hope that everyone I met there still has. This is "A Day in Havana". Some of the stuff I had the opportunity to shot and directed in 2017. Using a variety of cameras and drones I was able to capture the essence of most of this places and companies.

About Keith T.
Keith Terrell is a director, writer and producer whose credits include music videos, commercials, television, film and live broadcast productions. Over the past several years, the Los Angeles native has gained a wealth of experience working alongside some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry as a First Assistant Director. Most notably, he was Ava Duvernay’s A.D. for the groundbreaking Jay Z music video/short film Family Feud. Keith has also run sets for other top-selling artists, including T.I., Tyga and Blake Shelton. As Keith’s reel continues to grow, he’s placed a special focus on creating engaging content that showcases the diversity of minority communities--highlighting strong, positive images that debunk many outdated media stereotypes. His first narrative film, Penny For Your Thought, centers on the harsh reality that domestic violence can have on a girl who witnesses her mother’s abusive relationship and tries to intervene. He hopes to bring awareness to the epidemic and encourage those in abusive relationships to get help. It premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood in 2016. His latest project, Raincoat is now streaming on Amazon Prime and deals with the harsh realities of many young black mails in the inner city who are searching for their identity while being courted by many vices and evils. In addition to his professional goals, Keith has a personal goal of helping the next generation of content creators. Knowing that many inner-city kids don’t have exposure to entertainment industry careers, he began teaching film at New Earth, an L.A. High School for troubled teens. He plans to expand his efforts by setting up a continuation program that teaches students how to apply for roles “on set” and build successful careers.

About Alejandro G.
I consider myself a storyteller first and a filmmaker second. I truly believe that pretty pictures without soul and purpose are simply just that, pretty pictures. Every project I take on, whether it's a documentary, corporate vignette, or commercial, I always rely on story to drive every decision made in crafting content that speaks and resonates with audiences on a deeper human level. My work has taken me from the headquarters of fortune 500 companies to impoverish villages in rural Ghana. I've had the opportunity to interview industry leaders, dreamers, artists, innovators, underdogs, victims of abuse, terminally ill patients, and activists. From bigger than life characters to normal everyday working people, we all have a story to share and yet good stories only happen to those who can tell them. I am grateful and blessed to continue my pursuit of happiness and passion to craft good stories that challenge the way we think and speak to the heart to move the mind. Over the years my work has been recognized with numerous awards including 5 Emmys and 1 Telly, and yet I feel I've only just scratched the surface. When I am not behind a camera or computer I enjoy spending quality time with my family hiking a trail, traveling, getting our hands dirty in the veggie garden or playing with our dog and chickens.

About Steven B.
Steve Ball pioneered by forecasting the niche markets of Black media consumers. He made inroads into Blockbuster in the 90s with his feature films and remixed his success and moved his movie products online early, reading the winds of change. In many ways, his work echoes the Blaxploitation films of the 70s. Like a number of the films, Blacks directed and produced in the underground heyday Balls’ dramas had a moral core beneath the gangster trappings. His best work featured sharp dialogue that probed ethical dilemmas. Now, Mr. Ball is taking his savvy into micro-markets; channeling his narrative savvy and street smarts to the constant appetites of the audience he knows so well.
