Raised partly in Charleston and Columbia, SC, I graduated high school in May, 2005 and joined the U.S. Navy seven months later. After serving five years as a Mass Communication Specialist (I spent most of my time as a Photojournalist), I was honorably discharged and moved to Charlotte, N.C. to attend the Art Institute of Charlotte. Here is where I realized a real passion for Cinematography and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelors of Arts in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. Since then, I’ve been living in the jungle as a Freelancer and loving it. I love the challenge of creating a visual aesthetic that accentuates a narrative and have shot an array of projects including commercials, music videos, documentaries, reality t.v. and short films. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. For over 15 years, I have worked as a photo-journalist, covering stories and documenting the life of minority ethnic groups in Asia, Central America and South America. I have worked as director and cinematographer in numerous short films and commercials. I'm a passionate storyteller, educator, consultant and speaker about video production for social media and visual storytelling. For over 30 years with Turner Broadcasting: from his early days as a Video Journalist for CNN to Director of Photography with Turner Studio’s elite Film and Video Unit, Mike was awarded the opportunity to travel the world creating stunning imagery. He was hired directly out of college and worked his way up and around the Turner organization, broadening his experience as he went, including: field sound recording, long format post-production editing, videography, and field producing. Her life experiences, connectibility and sense of humor have made her a sought-after keynote speaker and emcee. Tamara is a freelance journalist, talk show host and documentary filmmaker, focusing on social justice and dedicated to creating transformative social change through excellence in journalism. On the road, I‘ve covered hurricanes and presidential campaigns; and especially enjoy producing in-depth reports. My career in journalism started at The University of Maryland at College Park. To pay my way through college, I worked as a news aide for The Washington Post, and as a production assistant for WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. I’ve worked for television stations in Dayton, Cleveland, Raleigh, Houston, Orlando and Washington, D.C. Community involvement is very important to me. I serve on the volunteer board of CAPN Clinics, a charity of medical professionals who provide free care to people who are homeless and families in crisis in Atlanta.
