Perry Berry, an activist against the exploitation and discrimination of little people in the Philippines, dreams of creating a dwarf village. Venerable Dhammananda is fighting for gender equality in her native Thailand, where she defies Buddhist religious law by ordaining hundreds of female monks. In the deep south of Thailand, where a conflict between the government and an Islamic separatist movement has killed more than 6,000 people since 2004, being a teacher is a deadly career choice. About 160 teachers and education personnel from government-run schools have been killed since January 2004. Watch as we head to this remote part of Thailand under tight military security and follow the teachers who risk their lives every day simply to go to work. Sok Piseth’s family has lived off the fish in Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake for generations. During the rainy season, the lake expands up to five times in size, creating a unique ecosystem that regularly brings new life to the lake and its surrounding wetlands. Mai Somnang is proud to be a lotus farmer making sustainable face masks from the flower’s stems in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. "Our company is very sustainable because we use all-natural microfiber," explains Alice Samnang, a supervisor at Samatoa. Alice says that before the Covid-19 pandemic, the social enterprise produced natural textiles with kapok, banana and lotus. Now it's facing a high demand for face masks made out of lotus fiber. The masks are exported to the U.S., Australia and France. Samatoa is also creating jobs for villagers. "We can feed our families earning money from the lotus fiber," says Mai. "The villagers are happy to work with fiber and they don’t have to find jobs elsewhere, far from home." Meet Aberu Mamo, a farmer in Ethiopia. With USAID's support, villages like Aberu's are becoming more resilient to recurring drought, helping break the cycle of crisis and reduce the need for emergency food aid. Through the Feed the Future GRAD project, USAID trained farmers like Aberu to diversify income, leverage loans and increase savings. "The money saved can be used to pass the worst time," Aberu says. Phra Maha Pranom Dhammalangkaro is a Buddhist monk leading a massive recycling effort in Thailand. Every month, 10 tons of plastic bottles fished from the ocean and discarded on land are delivered to his temple in Wat Chak Deng, and the waste is repurposed into monastic robes. See how the project benefits both the environment and the economy. Think spice makes everything better? Well, you’re right. We’re turning up the heat with our spicy food world tour. We asked seven people in seven countries to show us the foods that make them salivate and sweat. On the menu is dakdoritang in Seoul (a hot soup spiced with gochugaru), jambalaya in Houston (check out the cayenne in that one), and maboke in the Congo (it gets its fiery flavor from red Scotch bonnet peppers). And, what should you do when you can’t handle the heat? Great Big Story senior producer Beryl Shereshewsky tests out different hacks to ease the burn—like sugar, chocolate, and even vodka. Phinyo Pukphinyo has an ordinary job with a few extraordinary requirements. As a firefighter in Bangkok, he's not only expected to save people from burning buildings but also from slithering house guests. Recently, snakes have become an everyday sighting in Bangkok, and have begun to infiltrate residents’ daily lives. Pukphinyo says he is now spending more time catching snakes than going near flames. Luckily, he loves it. Just four years ago Myanmar released hundreds of political prisoners and promised to embrace democratic reforms. But once again the number of students, activists and journalists jailed is rising. Reporter Pailin Wedel follows two women activists faced with persecution even as Myanmar prepares for the polls.

As a two-time Emmy Award-nominated content creator for my work with Alchemy Immersive on Micro Monsters with David Attenborough and Kingdom of Plants along with his multiple 3D Awards, Al Caudullo has utilized his 39-plus years of video production experience as a foundation for immersive image capture and storytelling. Ian G. Saunders, Creative Director, The Gates Notes, said, "...His vast experience at every level of execution, from concept to post-delivery, makes Al the ideal partner for anyone seeking to enter the 360° or VR space. I'm pleased that I got to work with him to see the magic in action. Even beyond all the tools and the know-how, I would most of all recommend Al because he is a pleasure to work with." - Immersive Storyteller, Teacher, Tech Journalist Al is a triple threat of talent and innovation. His in-demand creative production adventures have taken him around the world to the farthest reaches. The Gobi Desert, Mongolia, China, Europe, Australia, and the USA are some places he has been called on to design innovative immersive productions. Here are a few of the references from his over 1000 clients over the years. "Al is one of the pioneers in the 3D production space. I have had the pleasure of working with him on many 3D documentaries as a distributor. The success that his films have had and continue to have with content buyers from all over the world shows that Al's work is of high quality, both on a storytelling and a technical level. We look forward to working with him in the future on more 3D projects." - Torsten Hoffman, CEO, 3D Content Hub "Al is one of the most technical savvy guys in 3D that I know. His knowledge is undoubted, and one of the first guys in Asia to be able to build his own 3D rig, successfully edit and grade. As this is such a young technology at this point, Al's understanding of the format and his ability to translate that to functioning equipment is second to none." - Ric Lawes, Owner, Location Thailand Ltd. "Al is a 3D evangelist. His passion and unsurpassed drive contribute immensely to the entire 3D community." - Sandy Climan, CEO, 3ality Digital Studios "3doo is very excited to collaborate with one of the true visionaries of 3-D entertainment, with global reach. Al Caudullo combines a vast body of technical knowledge, peerless experience, and pure passion for 3D to attract countless viewers from every corner of the globe."- Ingo Nadler, President, 3doo, Inc. "On set and in post-production, Al's expansive knowledge and professionalism contributed greatly to the ultimate success of this project. I would highly recommend Al Caudullo and Explore 360 for any video production that you have and most certainly for any 360 video shoot." - Jordan Gross, Channel Lead, Livewire Communications, Inc.
