I'm a freelance producer and editor. I grew up in Slovakia where I studied Journalism, and later moved to New York City to study Film Production and Screenwriting at The New School. While in school, I wrote and produced a number of short films and won the Rena Down Award for my feature script Crushing. I have worked in many different ares of production. Until recently, I was an Associate Producer for Magnet Media Films where I had a opportunity to create videos for brands such as Adobe, Cisco, Google, Chase , Spike TV etc. In 2017, I produced and co-edited a virtual reality short film about human trafficking called In the Shadows which premiered in January at VR Fest 2018 in Las Vegas. I love the challenge of bringing an idea or concept to life, considering not only the creative possibilities of a script but also the logistical realities and crafting a harmony between the two in order to achieve an optimal outcome that all those involved can be proud of.

Matyas Kalman graduated as a media designer from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest. He has worked as a video journalist for the major Hungarian news portal Index.hu and produced numerous short videos (444.hu, Politico, Transparency International, etc.). He was working as a Video Program Officer at Hungarian Civil Liberties Union. He was director of Happy New Year Hungary, a participatory documentary film with 300+ participants. In 2017 He was a guest lecturer at ELTE University Department of Media and Communication. Currently runs his own company, COLLOC Productions and works as Head of Video at 24.hu, one of the biggest news portals in Hungary.
