About David W.

I believe in the power of visually expressing the human experience and the raw beauty of nature. Before founding David Wallace Visuals, I worked for 20 years as a staff photographer and video producer at newspapers throughout the country. 15 of those years were at the Arizona Republic where I documented issues ranging from the U.S./ Mexico border to the environment. I covered Pope Francis’ inaugural visit to Mexico, disappearing glaciers in Peru, uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation, two Super Bowls, and directed a feature length documentary on child welfare issues. In 2018, I was one of the primary members of the Arizona Republic reporting team that won a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for their coverage of the U.S./ Mexico border. Of the 10 pieces of content submitted for the Pulitzer, three of the entries were videos I filmed and edited. I am an eight time Rocky Mountain Emmy winner and have won numerous other awards in photo and video journalism. I received a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. An avid outdoorsmen, my interests include hiking, canyoneering, trail running, rafting and rock climbing. In 2001, I thru-hiked the entirety of the 2,650-mile long Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. I live in Phoenix with my wife, Laura Segall, also a professional photographer and our three children. I approach every project with heart and compassion, producing content to communicate captivating stories of the people, places, organizations and businesses of Arizona and beyond. I'm a multi-hyphenate creative professional. I started in still photography as a teenager. I shot local and national news for over 15 years. I also shoot commercial, documentary, corporate and music videos. In addition to being an Emmy winning director of photography, I'm also a director, producer, writer, Emmy winning editor & Colorist. I own a boutique video production company that specializes in making smaller productions look huge! We own three Red cameras, a Sony F55, a DJI UAV, a 3 ton grip truck and an edit facility. I also create original music for our productions.

Donyisha "Yash" Wooley-Jones also known as Directed By Yash is a traveling filmmaker and photographer. During her studies at California University of Pennsylvania she received her first video camera to start curating films. She was then encouraged to focus on stills before pursuing motion pictures. Fast forward to today, she is now the proud founder of Visionary Media LLC. She has traveled far and wide documenting people, places, and things in pursuit of freezing moments that exhibit just how exquisite this life can be.
