Storytelling is my tool to share everyday moments, showcase unfamiliar cultures and to battle division and differences with truth and empathy for others. However, I also perceive the world through the lens of a geographer and I’m fascinated by how economic, political and cultural structures affect the autonomy of individuals and societies. It’s no wonder why I’m drawn to themes such as immigration, universal healthcare, climate change, environmental justice, human rights and access to education. When I’m not envisioning a better world, you can find me learning a new language, climbing trees, playing a classic rock song or letting loose on the dance floor.

Hi! My name is Nicolette and I’m a freelance photographer and journalist in Pittsburgh, PA. Last year I was Vice President of and co-ran an online magazine in Pittsburgh called Moxie, which featured small businesses, under-the-radar artists, events and entrepreneurs all in or from the Pittsburgh area. It ran only a year but garnered a lot of attention and appreciation amongst the community. My roles included administrative and management, but also writing articles and taking many of the photos seen on the website. I’ve been taking photos since the age of 15, and within the last 5 years have really focused on expanding my portfolio and freelancing for special events, portrait sessions, weddings, and personal art projects.
