I filmed this marketing video that helped secure $2.5 million in funding for Urban If you like hitting the slopes, fine craftsmanship, and full-circle moments, you’ll love how Meier Skis makes its gear. “The tree is kind of born and raised and grows up on the mountain, it comes back in the form of skis, and it skis right back through where it grew up to begin with,” Meier Skis owner Ted Eynon told Popular Mechanics. Diver deeper: https://bit.ly/3rKi9mz When a little boy first met this dog in the shelter, he knew he had to help him find the absolute perfect home — even if it meant flying him across the country. To help Roman and Jennifer rescue more dogs like Buster, you can support Project Freedom Ride: https://thedo.do/pfrdonate. For a century, Hammond's Candies has been hand-making its world-famous confections in Denver. Clearly, there's something sweet in the water out there—so for the latest episode of the Popular Mechanics series "MADE HERE," we visited the factory where old family recipes and a love of artisanal products continue to make Hammond's a magical place. It all began when Carl T. Hammond, Sr. dropped out of high school and got a job as an apprentice at a candy factory. After years of toiling at different factories, Hammond ventured out on his own and opened up Hammond's Candy Company in 1920.

About Daniel P.
I am a journalist and a filmmaker who recently graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with my Master's of Arts in Journalism. I have been creating short film documentaries largely focused on varying parts of the city of Denver; these include the Hip-Hop music scene as well as the larger music scene. In addition to the focus on music and community in Denver, I have also covered politics in Boulder and produced live coverage of the Colorado Democratic Party in Denver for Election Night 2016 for our journalism graduate blog. Lastly, I have run a Hip-Hop and pop culture blog for the past eight years, interviewing numerous local and national acts. Cypher Sessions is still going strong and has provided me with concert coverage and speaker coverage in both Denver and Boulder.

About John E.
John Ensworth works from Longmont as the Principle Investigator for the NASA Science Mission Directorate Earth and space science education product review through the IGES (The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies – www.strategies.org) . He is in his 15th year running this review. He is an astronomer (from the 2nd grade onward) and became a meteorologist (in the 5th grade) when a thunderstorm in Arizona rained on his telescope (the weather service had only forecasted a 10% chance of rain). He has college degrees in physics and astronomy and climatology and a graduate degree in meteorology and earth science. He lectures at the Little Thompson Observatory in Berthoud, the Estes Park Memorial Observatory in Estes Park, and for a number of online universities. He built and runs a backyard observatory near Pace and 17th in northeast Longmont where he has lived for 10 years with his wife, daughter, son, and two cats. Invitations to open house nights at this observatory, LTO, and EPMO will be posted with future weather discussions when they are scheduled. He began texting friends about the weather right after the September 2013 flood. Forecasting severe weather and snow amounts via text lead to this column. The readers of this column will, hopefully, keep him honest in what he ‘thought’ he had forecasted for ‘the most recent’ storm.
