In Liberia, millions of children are waking up to a world of hunger, poverty and disease. This case study was produced as part of a Save the Children UK campaign. Co-filmed by Arwen Kidd. Across 38 markets in Liberia, thousands of market women are entering classrooms to learn essential business skills. With new skills in budgeting, savings, banking, and business planning, market women are taking their businesses to the next level and gaining new confidence in their futures and in themselves. Liberia walks, runs, dances and rises to call for an end to violence against women and girls on February 14, 2013. Alhassan Kemokwai was one of the first Ebola survivors to walk out of Kenema Government Hospital during the peak of the outbreak. We met Alhassan and followed his story. Story was acquired by The Guardian UK Plan's Girls Making Media Project aims to empower girls through the use of media, and help them realise and spread the word about their rights as women and as children. Shot by more than 40 filmmaking teams around the world, the film immerses the viewer in the daily use of faith and spiritual practice. At a time when religious hatreds dominate the world’s headlines, this film explores faith as primary human experience, and how people turn to ritual and prayer to navigate the milestones and crises of private life. (WeOwnTV: Tyson Conteh, George Lewis) Can a family separated for 170 years by the transatlantic slave trade sing and dance its way back together again? THEY ARE WE tells a story of survival against the odds, and how determination and shared humanity can triumph over the bleakest of histories. (WeOwnTV: Lansana 'Barmmy Boy' Mansaray) Through the eyes of Sierra Leonean filmmaker Arthur Pratt , Survivors presents a heart-connected portrait of his country during the Ebola outbreak exposing the complexity of the epidemic and the socio-political turmoil that lies in its wake. The film interweaves the stories of... (WeOwnTV: Arthur, Pratt, MJ Sessy Kamara, Lansana 'Barmmy Boy' Mansaray, George Lewis, Tyson Conteh) UNDP Documentary: This documentary shows the role of the UNDP in supporting the National Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone.
