    About Adalberto L.

I currently reside in South Texas, more specifically in the Rio Grande Valley. The area sits along the US/Mexico border along the Rio Grande River. I began my career in news when I was 18yrs. old at KGBT-TV, the CBS affiliate in Harlingen, TX. Within three months of my employment, I found myself covering the landfall of Hurricane Dolly in the area as also began to cover "splashdowns" which a term coined for when drug smugglers would drive their vehicles into the Rio Grande River in order to save their drug loads from being confiscated by US law enforcement agencies. In 2010 I switched stations and began working at Entravision - McAllen which owns the Univision & Fox affiliates in the area. There I have been able to shoot and edit stories that have made their onto the "top story" slot of 'Primer Impacto' and 'Noticiero Univision'. Most recently I collaborated in acquiring footage and interviews for the Frontline/Univision documentary 'Violacion de Un Sueño'.

    About Jordan G.

Jordan Gass-Pooré is a senior English and mass communication double major at Texas State University. The moment she laid hands on a newspaper and her fingers were stained with black ink that she could smear on her older cousin’s white clothes, she was hooked. Since then, Jordan has been on a mighty crusade to prove that the pen is mightier than the sword, sharpening her writing skills through internships with the Los Angeles News Group, Austin American-Statesman and San Antonio Express-News, among others, and working with high school students as an English tutor and mentor. Jordan lived in Canterbury, England, for six months in 2010 and looks forward to returning, hopefully as a reporter with The Guardian in London.

    About Benjamin Lowy M.

Lowy+Lacar is an award-winning photography and filmmaking team specializing in authentic, documentary style storytelling. We started our careers as photojournalists, and have seen the impact of compelling storytelling. We believe in stories that not only inform, but also pique our curiosity, inspire us, create a ripple within our communities, and make lasting impressions. We work with big and small brands, startups, non-profit organizations, etc. Ben Lowy started his career as a conflict photographer in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, he swims with sharks. He has eaten monkey brains and boiled larvae. He’s climbed a mountain or three. He’s flown backwards off an aircraft carrier, and crawled through a 20 year old tunnel 1000 ft. underground. He’s done many things in the name of photography, and hasn’t been kicked out of the house yet. Marvi Lacar is the brains behind the braun, the Head Office, the M, the Batman to his Robin. Photojournalism has led her down a long and twisted road that has helped her make lasting connections with people and creatures around the world. She now directs and produces with her partner, Ben, who believes her superpower is telling stories that make grown men cry.
