Audiovisual producer, director and editor from Ecuador. Filmmaker by profession, master's degree in Media Studies from The New School, NY. 10 years of experience recording and taking photos. I have directed and produced various videos for the internet and big screens. During the first 5 years of my experience I dedicated myself to recording music videos. Then I dedicated myself more to the production of political and web content. I did a master's degree from 2018 to 2020 in NY. Now I also work with Touche Films, a major production company in the country. Last year I directed a food reality show called "Ahora te toca a ti" and now I am editing the Behind the Scenes (material that I also recorded) for the film Misfit. My undergraduate thesis project was a documentary that is uploaded on my YouTube channel. For many years I did a lot with a small equipment . I think the important thing is the image and the story, not the fancy equipment. But, now I have my own good equipment. I care a lot about image and story, I feel confortable interviewing people . A year ago I started operating drones. I have been involved in more than a hundred of project. You can check my work in my webpage.

I am Ramiro Aguilar Villamarín (Quito, Ecuador – 1985), visual anthropologist, social communicator and journalist, specialized in video and photography. Since 2014 I have worked as a videographer, photographer and reporter for national media and Hispanic-American digital portals, summing up numerous published works. By 2020 I am about to complete my master’s degree in research in visual anthropology where I have developed debates and works (written, photographic and audiovisual) on photography, cinema, memory, history, cultures, indigenous peoples and Amazonia. In addition to these topics, in my work I have approached the struggle of workers, social movements, human rights and migrations. My work and approach to the field of image and audiovisual, both in form and content, is based on strict humanitarian ethical principles. I seek to make evident the value or re-value the cases or human groups that I portrait, opposing any victimizing or discriminatory treatment nor approach. As well, I position myself critically on the traditional representations of minorities, excluded or marginalized groups. I am currently available for assignments mainly in the documentary field.
