Enrique Huaiquil is a Chilean-American award-winning cinematographer, photojournalist, documentary photographer, video editor, and graphic artist based in Northern Virginia. He has covered a wide variety of issues, including the Central American caravans trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, the aftermath of the earthquake in Puerto Rico, white supremacy in America, COVID-19 intensive care units, and immigration detention centers. Enrique has been documenting the immigration crisis in the U.S. In 2021, his focus was primarily on the growing Afghan community in the Washington, DC area as a result of the increased number of asylum seekers and refugees who had to flee Afghanistan with the American withdrawal in 2021. I then worked at Nice Shoes for three and a half years where I was color grading full time before going freelance. I now run DaVinci Resolve on my home workstation and am available for projects of all kinds. My credits include Academy Award nominated documentary St. Louis Superman, SXSW documentary winner These C*cksucking Tears, Cannes Directors’ Fortnight Winner Skip Day, and Spotify’s The Game Plan series, a Webby Award honoree.
