I am a multi-disciplinary artist that combines media to create dynamic stories. I am a writer for Men’s Journal Magazine, a professional photographer, videographer for commercial and documentary works, and all-around creator. I was born in Oregon, grew up on a sailboat in central America until I was eleven, built a house with my father in Key West, and eventually attended Vassar College. Today my passion for travel, adventure, and learning continues to drive my life and work. I am also a member of The Life Aesthetic creative collaboration network, the founder of the I Love You Letter video art project, and Director of the feature documentary film, 'The Narwhal's Wake.' I’m based out of Los Angeles, CA and split my time infinitesimally around the world.

Wasim has found himself busy speaking at events including Amazon.com & DPReview.com's PIX2015, Social Media Week, Samsung Developer Conference, and Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference about the power of photography, video and storytelling. He is also the co-founder of superswell VR, a virtual reality company specializing in immersive storytelling for the outdoor and travel industry. Muklashy currently devotes much of his time to various humanitarian and environmental causes, and has served as a volunteer docent in the California State Park System, where he self-tasked himself to develop original multimedia assets to help bring more attention to our underfunded protected public spaces. He currently serves as Communications Coordinator for the Rotary Action Group for Peace and sits on the board of Ecology In Classrooms & Outdoors, a non-profit dedicated to bringing ecology programs to underserved Portland Metro area schools by connecting students to the natural world and "building science literacy and environmental awareness." Finally, as a recovering broadcast news veteran, he’s realized the importance of combating the constant negativity with stories and news about why we’re living in the most awesome times ever, so started The Future Is Pretty Rad, a site dedicated to science, sustainability, design and tacos, to help spread that information. He spends whatever time he has left documenting the surrounding parks and landscapes and open spaces through photography."

Over the past decade Devon has directed and produced hundreds of commercials and corporate videos for clients as diverse as Major League Soccer, Intel, Electronic Arts, Dell Computers, Portland Trail Blazers, Moda Health, ZoomCare, Alienware, Lenovo, Amazon and the Learning Channel. On smaller jobs, Devon will serve as Director/DP and has extensive experience in productions of from one-man-band to large commercial crews. In late 2014, Devon was invited to share his passion for the future of storytelling when he was asked to give a TedxTalk on virtual and augmented reality. In 2016 Devon was interviewed by The Atlantic magazine to discuss VR and AR and the future of storytelling. Devon has gone on to incorporate this passion for pushing production boundaries by working closely with national clients on how to best utilize VR for their brands . Devon excels at crafting stories that matter, but not just for Fortune 100 companies. Devon lives in Portland with his daughter, Dagny.
