I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I'm an American based in Bogotá, Colombia, with experience working in English, Spanish and French. In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. Most recently, I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories. I'm originally from Berkeley, California, USA and I earned my B.S. from the University of California, Davis in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Art Studio (focusing on video and photography). From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), based in Washington, DC. At OWYP I designed middle school (age 10-14) curriculum and trained university students to teach it around the world in their own communities. The program taught the children cross-cultural communication by empowering them to create and send video, photo, and written messages to their partner classroom abroad - all facilitated by trained university student volunteers. While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling around the world visiting schools and delivering trainings at universities. My work in education and the opportunity to see so much of the world made me realize I wanted to tell stories. Storytelling is the best form of education anyway.

There are only two major documentary shows produced in Ukraine that I haven't been part of. Netflix's 'Winter on fire' and BBC's Ukrainian episode of the 'Top gear'. The first one didn't need me being based at the real-time footage filmed by more than 100 video streamers of the Maidan Revolution in 2014. The second one turned out to be dull. 'The Russian Woodpecker' about Chernobyl zone which was also advertised as something big coming from Ukraine is more of a sensationalist trick rather than a documentary. Kimiya is a writer and filmmaking. She has a Master of Arts in Specialized Journalist from the University of Southern California and has worked across four continents reporting and producing for digital, television, print and virtual media. In 2018, she joined the BBC World 2020 project to help expand BBC World Service programming across Africa. Prior to that, she was a part of the core team that launched the global Olympic Channel in 2016. She has been across seven editions of the Olympic Games, including the inaugural summer and winter Youth Olympic Games (2010, 2012) and a part of the IOC Young Reporter Program. Kyle Norris is from Michigan and spent ten years as a host and reporter with Michigan Radio, the state’s largest NPR-affiliate. He lives in Seattle and works as a producer, reporter and educator. His stories are intimate and character-driven. He explores issues surrounding identity, health, religion, poverty, and arts & culture narratives. Norris is known for his sound-rich style of storytelling and conversational, expressive tone.
