Im a photographer and videographer from Finland. Ive worked as a professional freelance press photographer since 1983. Currently my main focus is on video productions. I co-own a media company Media Road Service MRS Ltd (mediaroadservice.com) together with a freelancer journalist Maria Markus. The company produces video and multimedia as well as traditional print media material. We are passionate about storytelling, especially the stories we find on the road, as we love to travel and meet people. Now were heading to Kenya and Ireland to film our next story. We want to tell stories about people. Stories that show the richness of human life, and that really, reality can be more magical than fairy tales. We want to show the variety of ways of living, around the world as well as in my own Nordic neighborhoods. If those stories could even have a positive flow and tone, wed feel that weve done something right.

I am a video journalist and documentary filmmaker with 13 years of experience. I have reported news and feature stories from over a dozen countries and directed both journalistic and creative documentaries mainly from the global south (India, Nepal, Brazil, Tansania, Bolivia). Most of my work has been broadcast on YLE, Finland's public broadcaster. Some of my documentaries have been distributed by companies such as Java Films and Journeyman Pictures. I have also produced campaign videos for several NGOs and organisations. In 2014 and 2016 I worked as YLE's Brazil correspondent doing everything from reporting, shooting, editing as well as radio and online stories. I am originally from Finland and currently live between Germany and Sweden. I speak English, German, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese and Finnish fluently. I also master decent Italian, French and basics in Hindi and Turkish.

After some months I decided to leave local stories to experiment the international context. I decided to move to Tunisia first, and than to Egypt to cover the so called Arab Spring. In the last two years I have been working mainly in North Africa region with stories focused on the aftermath of the revolution mainly in Tunisia and Egypt.I realized a story in Greece, Patras, with the sub-Saharan immigrants looking for a better life in Europe. I went back to Italy where I focused mainly on society stories related to the changes of society In 2014 I've been working in Brazil on environmental and social stories, and in Albania on a story about blood revenge. I'm also working on a long term project about Independence movement in Europe. Since 2015 I'm based in Helsinki where I developed also as a videographer.
