Andrew J. Morgan is a passionate image maker and visual storyteller. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, he has been working professionally as a cameraman for over 15 years on a wide range of projects ranging in style, budget, and scope. From people and places to products and puppets, Andrew makes sure that the right equipment and crew are in place to capture impactful and professional images. Tinisha Brugnone, founder of the Cinematic Griot Collective, is an award-winning Director/Producer/Screenwriter from Detroit, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in "Media Arts and Studies" from Wayne State University with a concentration in Production. ​ While a student at Wayne State University, she joined The Michigan Creative Film Alliance (the MiCFA), a collaborative effort between students and alumni of Wayne State University, the University of Michigan and, Michigan State University. ​ During her first production with the MiCFA, she served as Co-Producer and Unit Production Manager on the short film "Beauty Queen". Later that year "Beauty Queen" went on to win a Bronze Award at The Blue Water Film Festival (2012) and a Bronze Plaque Award at the Columbia International Film Festival (2012). Her second production with the MiCFA, the short film “Downriver”, won a total of six awards including the Silver Award at the Blue Water Film Festival (2013) and Best Cinematography at the prestigious Uptown Film Festival (2013). Upon graduation from Wayne State University, Ms. Brugnone began focusing on writing and storytelling. In late 2015 her screenplay “Top Shelf” was chosen out of 150 applicants, to be one of 12 screenplays included in the Inaugural "Detroit Sundance Writing Intensive Workshop” under the instruction of filmmaker Joan Tewkesbury. In 2018 she launched The Cinematic Griot Collective a collective of filmmakers, artists, and other creatives. Through her collective, she formed relationships with like-minded individuals who are dedicated to giving a voice to underrepresented groups. Ms. Brugnone then launched her first project and pilot event, with the assistance of the C.G.C “Idlewild International Film Festival" in the summer of 2019. The event attracted diverse film enthusiasts with people traveling from as far as Washington, DC to Michigan, and received rave reviews. In 2020, Ms. Brugnone opted to cancel the Idlewild International Film Festival due to the current pandemic and to concentrate on writing and freelance production work. Tinisha is currently an active member of "Final Girls Detroit a collective of women filmmakers working and living in Metro Detroit and Brown Girls Doc Mafia (BGDM)a collective of women and non-binary filmmakers and industry representatives of color. ​

Stephen L. Garrett is a filmmaker based in Chicago, who collaborates with directors, producers, and production companies to develop, shoot, and edit feature-length documentaries, series, and promotional films for organizations large and small. Stephen began his filmmaking career in Madagascar as a third year Peace Corps volunteer in 2007. This experience led him to produce work for various organizations across the US and in 17 countries for clients such as the World Bank, the Ford Foundation, USAID, and the US Institute of Peace. Over his 12 year career in filmmaking, he has helped develop and produce television series that have aired on major television networks. In 2018 he coordinated coordinated post-production teams for 3 feature-length documentaries simultaneously: Nossa Chape debuted at South by Southwest 2018 and aired on Fox Sports; Momentum Generation won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Long Sports Documentary and debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival 2018 and aired on HBO; and Give Us This Day aired on AT&T Audience Network. In addition, he coordinated production and post production teams working in 13 countries for Phenoms, an internationally broadcast 6-episode documentary series about rising World Cup soccer stars for Fox Digital. In 2019, Stephen was the associate producer for Committee Film’s Investigation Discovery series Serial Killer: Devil Unchained. He is currently editing his first feature-length documentary How To Build A School in Haiti for director Jack C. Newell, which will be released in 2020. His short documentary, Mine 21, was awarded the 2019 Austen Riggs Erikson Prize for Excellence in Mental Health Media. Stephen has a BA in Conservation Studies from the University of the South.

Sam Mirpoorian is an award-winning filmmaker exploring societal themes at the intersection of time, isolation, health, science, + introspection. During his undergrad + grad studies at Indiana University, he made his first doc-short, Little Warriors, which tells the story about youth activism in the space of climate policy. The film was a Grand Prize Winner at the Academy Award-Qualifying, Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. In 2018, Sam edited + produced a doc-short, Destination Park, which examines a mobile chapel located in the heart of a desolate truck stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York + made its online premiere via The Atlantic in 2019. In 2020, Sam’s second doc-short, Sonnie, which follows the serene + poignant life of a single father raising his son, played + won awards from over 40 film festivals across the United States + is a recipient of the Kodak Motion Picture Film Bronze Award for Excellence in Filmmaking. Sonnie won three Regional Emmy® Awards and was acquired by NBC, making its broadcast premiere via Peacock in 2021. In addition to his film work, Sam has directed, shot, edited, + produced national + regional commercial/branded content campaigns for philanthropic + environmental foundations including brands such as Pharrell Williams’ IceCream, Robert Redford’s The Redford Center, the YMCA, NASCAR, Goodwill, Louisville Slugger, High & Mighty, + others.

Patricia Nabong is a visual journalist who is dedicated to breaking stereotypes, covering untold stories and serving communities through visual journalism. She is currently a photojournalism fellow at City Bureau, a civic journalism lab in Chicago. In the past, she worked as a fellow at The Medill Justice Project, where she produced an interactive visual investigation of Washington D.C.’s vacant properties, which was a finalist for the 2017 Peter Lisagor Award. She was also a student fellow at the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, which funded her short documentary and photo essay about the psychological toll of the drug war in the Philippines. Her photos, articles and videos have appeared in the American Documentary Film Festival, The Weather Channel, Seeker, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Reader, Chicago Defender, WBEZ Chicago, City Bureau, Narratively, The A.V. Club, The Riveter, Climbing Magazine, Balitang America and Medill Reports, to name a few. She is one of the 2018 nominees for the World Press Photo Foundation's Joop Swart Masterclass. She earned her master's degree in journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism where she received the Harrington Award for Videography/Broadcast. She also won a Chicago College Emmy for a video she produced there.  Prior to starting her graduate studies at Medill, she worked as a freelance multimedia journalist for online news sites Rappler, Union of Catholic Asian News and ABS-CBN News and as a part-time photography teacher at St. Paul College, Pasig. She graduated summa cum laude as the batch valedictorian of the class of 2015, with a degree in Film from the College of Mass Communication of the University of the Philippines. When Parry Metz was a pre-med student at the University of Michigan, he had visions of improving lives and having a profound and lasting effect upon humanity. So he did the only sensible thing: he changed his major to advertising. For 15 years, Parry was a creative director and copywriter at DDB Chicago, where he has worked on Safeway, JCPenney, McDonald’s, The Field Museum, the Afterschool Alliance/Ad Council, the American Cancer Society, and many other accounts.
