Erin Patrick O'Connor is a multimedia journalist specializing in documentary production, whose work has focused on issues including government housing for indigenous communities in Chiapas, Mexico, undocumented students fighting for citizenship and the struggle of overcoming a traumatic brain injury. He participated in the Carnegie-Knight News21 Initiative, based out of Arizona State University, producing two short news documentaries about the 2013 state legislative session in Colorado and inner-city violence in Camden, New Jersey. Anna Clare Spelman is a documentary filmmaker, DP, and editor whose work revolves around working with individuals to tell empowering stories about women and people in the LGBT community, and exploring the causes and consequences of immigration. She is interested in how we create identity and find community, particularly in the context of religion. Her first feature film is currently in production. She has collaborated with Univision News, Blue Chalk Media, Al Jazeera, and TIME Magazine, among others. Anna's projects have taken her to India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Panama, Cuba, México, and across the United States. Her work has been recognized by the North Carolina Press Photographers Association, College Photographer of the Year, NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism, and she was nominated for a 2016 News and Documentary Emmy Award. A short documentary for Time Magazine was named a Vimeo Staff Pick in 2018 and won the Webby Awards’ People's Choice Award and Judges Award in the News and Politics category. She is an Adelante Fellow with the International Women’s Media Foundation, and holds a B.A. in Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.A. in Visual Journalism from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is fluent in English and Spanish and comfortable working in both languages.

After working as a student journalist in 2004, Andrew fell in love with storytelling for impact. Between 2005-08 he cut his teeth as a coordinator on The Amazing Race; 3rd AD on the BAFTA-nominated docudrama Eagle Falls; as PM for Discovery and Animal Planet shows; and as the writer/producer/director of marketing videos for impact organizations. This while also story producing The Joe Show documentary, with his mentor turned partner, Director Randy Murray. In 2008, Andrew and Murray began another documentary, Mitchell 20. Andrew produced, wrote, and the two co-directed. Andrew helped raise $550k for this film to cover its 3 year-long production. It was released in 2012 via a theatrical run with AMC Independent and won a regional Emmy for Best Documentary. The same year, Benson sold his original concept Edge of War to Discovery Military. The shows host, General Wesley Clark said it “could reduce enthusiasm for war”, which was exactly its intent. This led to Discovery’s licensing of The Joe Show and a development deal.  In 2013, Benson moved to San Francisco to pursue this film and set up a creative agency, A Happy Project, where he served as a creative writer, producer, and director on digital products and content projects for startups and NGOs. Chasing his film, Democracy: An Inquiry he spent 2017/18 living in Paris, Monrovia, and Johannesburg before settling down in New York. Today, he works with clients like the BMW Foundation, Patreon, University of Phoenix, b8ta, Tomorrow Lab, Accountability Lab, and Humanity United. Outside of Phoenix, he's lived in San Francisco, Paris, Quito, Monrovia (Liberia), and Johannesburg. He's traveled and worked in 30 US states and 30 countries, and is currently based in New York City.

I have been working in the film, television, and digital video industry for the past 10 years. In those 10 years I’ve worked a slew of production jobs. From a lowly PA, to 1st AC, to Gaffer, to Cinematographer. I’ve pretty much done it all. Every job has provided a different learning opportunity, and an opportunity to hone my craft. In 2016 I was approached by Hearst television to join a new digital studio they were building to promote their networks. This was my opportunity to get behind the camera on a consistent basis and create a vast body of work. I found a passion for telling authentic, impactful, heartfelt stories. I think these types of stories have a special spot in my heart. The digital studio became the cornerstone of digital video content for all Hearst markets. I served as the lead cinematographer at the studio with multiple additional responsibilities. In addition to creating the aesthetic that our team was known for, and shooting a majority of our videos, I was managing our crews in the field, piloting new projects, and editing 99% of the content I was shooting. I helped to build a significant video production team where teamwork and collaboration were the foundation of the studio's success. In 2019 my fiancé matched to her medical residency in Phoenix, Arizona. And I had no choice but to follow my heart and go with her. This meant leaving HTV's Digital Studio and embarking on a new journey. I'm now working freelance in the greater southwest region, taking my skill set and applying it to productions like yours!

I am an Iranian, award winning editor/ assistant editor with over seven years of experience in various projects such as documentaries, mockumentaries, narratives, promotionals, and music videos. I recently worked on a Shondaland/Netflix show called Inventing Anna as a post assistant where I managed processing dailies, script syncing, temporary sound design, editorial paperwork, and deliverables. Previously, I worked for over three years as a video editor for the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University where I gained significant experience in all aspects of post-production including editing, effects, color correction, sound mixing, and spotting. I also worked for three years at the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre as a post-production lab technician, tutoring students in Avid Media Composer and other editing platforms such as Premiere Pro and After Effects. Additionally, I am an Avid Certified Professional in Media Composer and have strong creative and organizational skills along with the ability to communicate and work well both independently and in a group. I consider media the most powerful tool to create stories that challenge the imagination and accepted perceptions. Being a part of a persecuted religious minority, I was deprived of the opportunity to receive formal training and higher education in my home country of Iran. As a result, I immigrated to the United States to pursue my second degree in Film and Media Production because I believe filmmaking has the unique ability to change how we view its subjects, including many that have been consciously and unconsciously misrepresented. That’s why I am eager to work in documentary productions because I admire their desire to shed light on important, untold and unique stories. Migrating to United States by myself, made me resilient and eager to learn and grow and I want to use my skills to tell stories about the vulnerable, the marginalized and the lives deemed less important and the voices kept silent for much too long.  In addition to my work as an editor/ assistant editor, I was a panelist at the 9th Annual Human Rights Film Festival on the subject of immigration and alienation and was a participant and editor of the Dear Women short documentary. Being able to further develop my skills with your team would be an amazing opportunity. I believe I can contribute to your team because of my skill set and because I understand how creative storytelling can bring compassionate people together and promote the community.

I believe in the power of visually expressing the human experience and the raw beauty of nature. Before founding David Wallace Visuals, I worked for 20 years as a staff photographer and video producer at newspapers throughout the country. 15 of those years were at the Arizona Republic where I documented issues ranging from the U.S./ Mexico border to the environment. I covered Pope Francis’ inaugural visit to Mexico, disappearing glaciers in Peru, uranium contamination on the Navajo Nation, two Super Bowls, and directed a feature length documentary on child welfare issues. In 2018, I was one of the primary members of the Arizona Republic reporting team that won a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for their coverage of the U.S./ Mexico border. Of the 10 pieces of content submitted for the Pulitzer, three of the entries were videos I filmed and edited. I am an eight time Rocky Mountain Emmy winner and have won numerous other awards in photo and video journalism. I received a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. An avid outdoorsmen, my interests include hiking, canyoneering, trail running, rafting and rock climbing. In 2001, I thru-hiked the entirety of the 2,650-mile long Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. I live in Phoenix with my wife, Laura Segall, also a professional photographer and our three children. I approach every project with heart and compassion, producing content to communicate captivating stories of the people, places, organizations and businesses of Arizona and beyond.
