Derek Alan Rowe (Director, Editor, Motion Graphics Animator) is a co-founder of Doctrine Creative with offices in Orlando, Fl and Durham, NC. From a very young age, Derek spent most of his time developing ideas, and found digital media was the best way to express them. He has grown from a graphic designer, to web designer, to video editor. He has worked with Disney, Nickelodeon, TLC, plus many other independant projects. Derek’s goal is to produce inspiring and meaningful media. In 2008 he directed a full-length feature film called “Out On Parole” and just completed a documentary film called “Within Reach” that is currently touring festivals.

At the Santa Fe Reporter, I covered Santa Fe’s Southside — its immigrant and indigenous communities, service industry workers, entrepreneurs and families — through stories that impact their lives. I also covered the business and culture outside of the city’s contemporary downtown core, especially taking into account women, people of color, historical context, access to health care and education. I started my career as a full-time staff journalist at Miami Today News covering the dynamic cities of Coral Gables and Miami Beach as well as international news that affected South Florida, including arts, culture, banking and finance. I have freelanced as a writer, photographer and videographer for numerous publications since college, including USA Today, the Tampa Bay Times, the St. Augustine Record, Happs News, Al-Jazeera Plus, Human Rights Campaign, the Florida Bulldog and Seminole Magazine, long before completing my Bachelor's in Journalism/Media Production. I received a grant while attending Flagler College to work with a partner covering malnutrition and poverty in a Mayan community on the shores of Lago de Atitlan in rural Guatemala. I am a previous grantee for the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. Tracey Eaton, a long-time investigative journalist and foreign correspondent, and I, traveled to Havana, Cuba in August 2018 to cover the housing crisis. We published multiple multimedia pieces. USA Today and the Tampa Bay Times were the first publications to take the story. I am bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. I graduated from Flagler College majoring in Journalism/Documentary Production and minoring in International Studies Magnua cum Laude.

Margaret Cheatham Williams is an Emmy-nominated independent film producer and editor, currently seeking opportunities and collaborations in the film, audio, and outdoor space. Previously Margaret Cheatham was a documentarian at The New York Times, where she pitched, produced, shot and edited narrative and documentary video and photography. She regularly collaborated with the graphics department to create interactive content. She is particularly driven to stories that examine the intersection of health, family and personal identity. Through deep character exploration, she aims to tackle intimate issues including gender, fertility, and sexuality. In 2018 she piloted Conception, a highly visual and lyrical exploration of the myriad ways that women become mothers, and the journey that ensues. In the series, we introduce you to six women — each with a transformation uniquely theirs — in first-person accounts of love, regret, doubt and strength. Season II addresses the complexities of raising children in our modern era – We asked parents: What does it mean to raise children in the context of #MeToo, the immigration discussion, the opioid crisis and the gun debate? Her other work at the Times took her to Pyeongchang, South Korea where she covered the Winter Olympics, to Brazil, and all over the US, where she has reported on postpartum depression, politics and produced 360 video. Margaret Cheatham’s work has been recognized by the Livingston Awards, the Hearst Foundation, Pictures of the Year International, the National Press Photographers Association, Society for News Design, and the South by Southwest interactive awards. Her films have premiered at AFI Fest and the Margaret Mead Film Festival. In 2016 she was selected as an alternate for the Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship, which provides opportunities for U.S. citizens to participate in an academic year of overseas travel and storytelling on a globally significant theme. She has been a multimedia coach at the North Carolina Photojournalism workshop and has served as judge for the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism contest and the White House Press Association. Previously she a video intern for The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and MediaStorm, an award winning multimedia production house. She completed a bachelor's degree in 2011 from the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied photojournalism and French. Margaret Cheatham loves pineapple, lives in San Francisco with her husband, and the other love of her life – their West Virginian mutt, Duma. I’m a big fan of the Scripps-Howard motto: “Give light and the people will find their own way.” I’m an Emmy Award winning news anchor/reporter, most recently for WGCL-TV in Atlanta. I love taking viewers through breaking news and field anchoring. As a proven ratings-getter, I’ve been blessed to have worked with fantastic producers and love working together to craft an informative, energetic, rockin’ newscast. On the road, I‘ve covered hurricanes and presidential campaigns; and especially enjoy producing in-depth reports. My career in journalism started at The University of Maryland at College Park. To pay my way through college, I worked as a news aide for The Washington Post, and as a production assistant for WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. I’ve worked for television stations in Dayton, Cleveland, Raleigh, Houston, Orlando and Washington, D.C. Community involvement is very important to me. I serve on the volunteer board of CAPN Clinics, a charity of medical professionals who provide free care to people who are homeless and families in crisis in Atlanta.
