Born in 1976 in Zimbabwe, completed Advanced level Studies in History, Literature and Art, Completed a three Year Diploma in Graphics and Visual Communications at Masvingo Polytechnic College in Zimbabwe, worked as a Storyboard Artist and Cinematographer for Production houses and Design Agencies in Zimbabwe, In order to increase knowledge in Film enrolled and completed a three year Diploma in Film and Television Studies at the School of Film and Television for Southern Africa graduated in 2010. Began Freelance Work in 2010. In 2010 travelled around Southern Africa working on a Freelance Documentary Project on Migration in Southern Africa, covering Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa, it was Awarded the Best Zimbabwean Documentary in 2013 at the International Images Film Festival in Zimbabwe. Travelled to Egypt during the Arab Spring, while there i worked on a number of short film and Documentary projects.Currently work on Freelance and commisioned work.

About Kumbulani Z.

Kumbulani Zamuchiya is an independent filmmaker and producer with a specialization in documentary and arts focused productions. For the past decade he has been directing, writing, filming and producing projects in Zimbabwe and internationally, from short films to TV programs and music videos. In 2008 he founded his own production company Tallawah Productions to enable him to maintain independence and creative control of his work. His projects have won him international and local recognition from The Lincoln Centre, Apollo Theatre, Columbia University and to the Zimbabwe International Film Festival. In 2014 he was awarded the outstanding Human Rights Journalist of the year for the documentary Dhamu – Voices From a Tent and in 2013 he won an international award for the NAFSA International video contest. Hi! I'm passionate about telling stories about Africa and I've been doing that for over 7 years now where I've gained vast experience. My work includes documentaries, story videos, aerial stock footage, corporate videos and livestreaming. I've been privileged to be able to use my talent & skills as a drone operator, commercial shooter, production coordinator, field producer and fixer and have been a part of a number of notable productions. I really enjoy getting out in the wild anytime I can, it really helps with creative storytelling. I have a good set of gear for drone footage capturing and some good 4K cameras for ground shooting as well. I'm ready and available to shoot independently or within a production team.

He has a Certificate in Screenwriting from Relativity Workshops in Los Angeles, CA. He has won the European Film Festival 2021 best documentary of the year award for his documentary titled The Drug Story. Tinashe is passionate about telling African stories especially Zimbabwean stories and through Tall Grass Media aims to tell the African perspective while also working with other filmmakers to share knowledge and resources.
