Michael Clubb is a photojournalist based in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Louisville but raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Michael returned to the Bluegrass state to attend the University of Kentucky. After joining the Kentucky Kernel, UK’s independent student newspaper, as a photographer, he soon realized that photography was more than a hobby for him; it would be his career. Now a junior, he is majoring in marketing and continues to work for the Kentucky Kernel— now as managing editor as well as photographer. Though he has shot news and features for the Kernel and other outlets, from a shooting at the Fayette Mall to how local businesses operated on Election Day 2020, Michael especially enjoys shooting sports. UK’s nationally recognized athletics program has allowed Michael many opportunities to photograph large-scale sporting events, such as UK football’s 2018 and 2019 bowl games, the 2019 NCAA men’s basketball Elite Eight, and historic 2020 basketball and football games played under COVID-19 protocols. Michael’s work has gained state, national and international recognition. Most notably, he was recently named Kentucky News Photographers Association Sports Photographer of the Year, competing against journalism professionals as well as against fellow students; in 2020, he earned an Award of Excellence from the College Photographer of the Year association for his Sports Portfolio. I am a freelance photographer based in Chicago, Illinois. I started out my photography career seventeen years ago as a staff photojournalist for the Laredo Morning Times in Laredo, Texas after earning my BA in photography/journalism at Columbia College Chicago. I began freelancing in early 2008 and have photographed news, editorial, events, portraits, and more. Meg Vogel is an independent photojournalist and filmmaker. Previously, Vogel spent eight years as a staff photographer for The Cincinnati Enquirer for eight years, where she honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of visual storytelling. Vogel was named one of the 30 Under 30 Top Women Photographers in 2018. Her work has been honored by esteemed organizations such as World Press Photo, the National Edward R. Murrow Awards, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the National Press Photographers Association, and the Associated Press. Vogel was a producer, editor, photographer, and cinematographer for her newsroom’s “Seven Days of Heroin,” project, which included a 30-minute documentary film. The project received the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for local reporting. She has presented the project across the country to healthcare professionals, students and Google News employees. She graduated from Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication in 2013. During her college career, she gained valuable experience interning at The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wisconsin and National Public Radio in Washington D.C. After graduating, she photographed and led trips for high school students with Rustic Pathways in Thailand, India, Tanzania and Nepal. Vogel taught photography classes in the colorful markets of Jodhpur, bathed elephants at a sanctuary and built water tanks in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. Vogel volunteers as a visual storyteller for Save the Rain, a nonprofit that specializes in building rainwater harvesting systems in the rural villages of northern Tanzania. She is an advisory member of Reporting on Addiction, a collaboration of the Opioid Policy Institute and 100 Days in Appalachia, to improve journalism about addiction. Vogel also mentors young photojournalists and local high school students.

Hunter N. Johnson is a documentary filmmaker, photographer and editor whose projects seek to advance human rights through visual storytelling. His work has been featured on CBS, The Atlantic, PBS, AFI Docs, and has garnered over 16 million online views. For four years Hunter worked with The Perennial Plate, a two-time James Beard Award-winning and Emmy-nominated traveling documentary team creating short documentaries on the human stories behind sustainable food production. Hunter has created videos for Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and is currently producing a project for the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism. Bilgin graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts in 1997 with a degree as a Movie Director. The following year he returned to his native Turkey where he embarked on a journalism career when he was hired as a news coordinator with a local Turkish newspaper, Korfezde Olay, in Balikesir. A year later, he began compulsory service in the Turkish Air Force as a reserve officer. Upon completion, he returned to journalism and joined the Ihlas News Agency (IHA) in 2000. There he served as a correspondent and was handed international assignments in 30 nations. He was also a war correspondent in Iraq in 2004 and in Palestine, covering the ongoing Israeli-Palestine conflict.   Bilgin joined The Anadolu Agency (AA) in 2007, one of the world’s largest and preeminent news organizations. Initially based in AA’s headquarters office in Ankara, Turkey, he traveled to more than 30 countries while accompanying dignitaries and senior Turkish officials during their overseas missions.   He transferred to AA’s New York City office in 2011, where he has covered U.S. national news, including the Boston Marathon bombings; Moore, Oklahoma tornado; West, Texas, fertilizer plant explosion and the protests in Ferguson, Missouri. Bilgin’s pictures, videos and news reports have been published and broadcast in some of the world’s most respected and prestigious media outlets.
