Dr. Harrison H. Schmitt was on the last manned mission to the Moon — Apollo 17. He was the first scientist to walk on the lunar surface. Terra Blight is a feature-length documentary exploring America’s consumption of computers and the hazardous waste we create in pursuit of the latest technology. The 1939 New York World’s Fair offered a glimpse into a promising future, filled with innovative ideas and inventions. Featuring firsthand interviews from those who were there, Oscar-winning director Barbara Kopple highlights the landmark event in “The Decades Series: The 1930s.” I produced this video for the Flagler College Athletic Department. The purpose was to thank sponsors and supporters of Flagler College athletes and explore ways in which the athletes contribute to the community in St. Augustine, Florida. For this story, I interviewed the owner of a horse carriage company, a veterinarian and a city official in Savannah, Georgia, after the city took measures to protect horses that work in the summer heat. The Weather Channel URL is no longer active, so I use a YouTube link. For this story, I interviewed residents of St. George, Georgia. Authorities had ordered residents to evacuate as a wildfire continued to spread in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge near the Florida-Georgia border. Many townspeople refused to leave, saying they wanted to stay behind to try to save homes and businesses. The Weather Channel URL is no longer active, so I use a YouTube link. On July 20, 2017, shortly after midnight, Keegan Von Roberts, a young black man, was shot and killed in front of his house by his white neighbor, Michael Centanni. Centanni was never charged, protected under the self-defense argument. The case is complicated and controversial – here’s a deeper look. When Shahla Latifi was an 18-year-old pharmacy student living in Kabul, Afghanistan, it was arranged that she would marry a 50-year-old Afghan man living in Jacksonville, Florida. She was excited to leave a violent Afghanistan for a man who seemed kind and promised her she could finish her degree in the United States. Instead, Shahla was locked into a 22 years of mental, emotional, physical and se When Rostand Ndong Essomba’s sister passed away unexpectedly, he was 14 years old. Little did he know that turning his focus to basketball would lead him on a wild journey from his home country of Cameroon to Stockbridge, Georgia, when he was 17. Once in Georgia, a nightmare became reality for Essomba and numerous other international athletes. This is a piece I did on my good friend Gabi. The idea of the project was to capture someone who lived around the world and their reaction to different cultures. I conducted the interview, recorded the audio, and shot the photos.

About Shannon W.
Hi, I'm Shannon Wolfgang, mom of two and a native of Orlando. I have seen our beautiful city grow in many ways and have been able to experience various trends and cultures while capturing moments. I share our adventures of art, travel, food, and fun in the images I take while promoting the Central Florida area and beyond. It is fun experiencing some old yet new adventures within my children's eyes. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Magazine Journalism, I realized I had a passion for storytelling, and I love to talk. I landed back in O-town and started a 10+ year career in print and digital media designing for various national magazine publications. During those years, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work overseas on a fashion magazine in a foreign language. After working a decade at the magazine company in Winter Park, I went out on my own as a freelancer, which included contract work for national brands and various agencies around Orlando. One client turned full time for 3.5 years, but I went out on my own once again. This time was different, and we turned everything we knew into a business. I always wanted to help people, and this was a way I could artistically.
