Xavier Medina was born June 26, 1986 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and grew up with his big family in Barrio Santa Rosa, Guaynabo. He majored in audio visual communications at the University of Puerto Rico and later completed his Master of Arts in directing for film at the Savannah College of Art and design. In 2012 he won Best Short Film at the Rincon International Film Festival and a year after co- directed and shot an Axe commercial that was awarded with the Silver Lion at Cannes. After his ten-year carrier as artist/filmmaker, Xavi, as his friends call him, moved to Miami, FL, where he continues to create and collaborate in the film industry as writer/director, cinematographer and editor.
