The scale of homelessness in Seattle is seen in the city's downtown core, in neighborhoods, as well as parks and wasteland. The perception of homeless people remains plagued by addiction, mental health issues, and other negative tropes but many are homeless due to tough breaks in a hard economy, and they are standing up for themselves, taking control and speaking out. About Cady V.
I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I'm an American based in Bogotá, Colombia, with experience working in English, Spanish and French. In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. Most recently, I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories. I'm originally from Berkeley, California, USA and I earned my B.S. from the University of California, Davis in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Art Studio (focusing on video and photography). From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), based in Washington, DC. At OWYP I designed middle school (age 10-14) curriculum and trained university students to teach it around the world in their own communities. The program taught the children cross-cultural communication by empowering them to create and send video, photo, and written messages to their partner classroom abroad - all facilitated by trained university student volunteers. While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling around the world visiting schools and delivering trainings at universities. My work in education and the opportunity to see so much of the world made me realize I wanted to tell stories. Storytelling is the best form of education anyway.

About Dima K.
There are only two major documentary shows produced in Ukraine that I haven't been part of. Netflix's 'Winter on fire' and BBC's Ukrainian episode of the 'Top gear'. The first one didn't need me being based at the real-time footage filmed by more than 100 video streamers of the Maidan Revolution in 2014. The second one turned out to be dull. 'The Russian Woodpecker' about Chernobyl zone which was also advertised as something big coming from Ukraine is more of a sensationalist trick rather than a documentary. Each and every big Western documentary production company working in Ukraine has hired me to do the job. Major works are listed on my IMDB profile and at my agency's website. IMDB profile: imdb.com/name/nm3002393 Website: fixerukraine.com I've worked as a local producer/ fixer for the majority of the Vice's shows in Ukraine including 'Cold War 2.0', 'Black Market', 'Cyberwar', 'Gaycation' and 'World in Disarray', BBC's 'The Great Continental Railway Show with Michael Portillo' and 'Inside Chernobyl's Megatomb', Chernobyl's episode of the 'Abandoned Engineering' fro Discovery, History's 'Cities of Underworld' and many more. Here is short CV: 2014 - 2018 - full-time freelance local producer/ fixer (NBC, NatGeo, Vice, BBC, AJ, Discovery, RTL4, BNN Vara etc.) 2014 - 2016 - producer (Vocativ) 2004 - 2014 - part-time fixer for Western media/ television director & presenter for local media (1+1, STB, New Channel) 2002 - 2004 - E.Muskie program fellow (Ohio University Graduate Media Arts program) 1998 - 2004 - journalist for the major Ukrainian television companies (1+1, First National Channel, Inter)

He was selected as a 2016 New Voice Scholar from the Association for Independents in Radio and has won a Clarion Award in 2016 for his work on a radio documentary about life for military veterans in Michigan. His previous awards include First Place for enterprise/investigative reporting from PRNDI and a "best of" award for individual reporting from the Michigan Associated Press. Norris also teaches classes and workshops about audio production, storytelling, podcasting, and working with the media. His clients include The City of Seattle, Seattle Public Library, Jack Straw Cultural Center, The Seattle World School, and Southwest Youth & Family Services. He currently works as a youth mentor and instructor for KUOW’s RadioActive program and as a producer with their podcast department. He’s created an independent podcast with reporter Anna Boiko-Weyrauch called “Finding Fixes” that looks at solutions to the opioid epidemic in Snohomish County. The series was released in September 2018 and is supported with help from Solutions Journalism and InvestigateWest. Former NPR Senior Editor Sara Sarasohn describes Norris this way: “Kyle Norris is the real deal. I've heard a lot of voices in my 25 years in public radio. None is warmer, more expressive or more natural than Kyle's. He has this innate intimacy that invites the listener into a story in a totally welcoming way. That carries over into his interviewing. Kyle has such an ability to get the perfect quote that goes beyond the superficial. From government officials to kids in an art class, Kyle connects with the people he talks to, and that's a gateway for the audience to connect as well.”

About Casey M.
A media professional with more than 17 years of experience finding, crafting and editing stories -- including work in newspapers, radio, television and online news. As Executive Producer for Digital Media, I managed a team of five producers and four digital assistants creating content that recruits viewers to KIRO 7’s digital platforms, including our website, Facebook page, channels on Amazon Fire and Apple TV, and the KIRO 7 News apps. That role included creating and editing video for each of our platforms, planning and executing social media strategy, and coordinating all livestreams. Doubled KIRO’s daily traffic average in the first year, launched KIRO’s Smart TV apps and our Roku platform became the top local news station on that platform worldwide. Awards include a 2014 Emmy Award for political coverage, a 2017 Emmy for team coverage and a 2018 Emmy Award for crime coverage. As a reporter, I was among the handful selected to transition the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper into Seattlepi.com. Roles were often self-initiated, including video and audio projects. I also oversaw the vast P-I archives and coordinated the partnerships that led to preservation at the Museum of History and Industry and the Seattle Public Library’s Seattle Room. As a reporter at the P-I’s print edition, I crafted thousands of stories by building a network of diverse sources, including confidential sources, public officials, law enforcement officers, sports figures, historians, archivists, and trusted community leaders. After the mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, I was selected along a handful of Hearst journalists to tell the stories of Sandy Hook. Stories ran in the network of Hearst Newspapers and news websites, and my contributions included text, video and photos. Additional experience includes a nightly news segment on KIRO Radio, a Seattle history podcast for Seattlepi.com, work at KJR AM and FM in Seattle, overseeing the KIRO 7 archives and creating a partnership to digitize and preserve those through the University of Washington Special Collections. Undergraduate degree is in Business Administration – Marketing.
