The Pacific Science Center brings science, technology, engineering and math to students across Washington state. This video was shown at their annual Foundations of Science Breakfast on May 4, 2016. They raised over $300,000 to sustain and accelerate the Science Center's role as the region's leading science educator. https://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/breakfast/ The Beacon Hill neighborhood in Seattle, WA is building an urban food forest on 7 acres of public land. Their community has come together to grow their own food to rehabilitate the local ecosystem, improve public health and educate about the climate impact of food production. The video was shown at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20 in June 2012. Nearly all of the seven sea turtle species are now on the brink of extinction due to human causes. The world’s smallest and most critically endangered sea turtle, the Kemp’s Ridley may still face extinction in the next 50 years. This is the true story of courageous people from New England to Mexico who are determined to save these ancient creatures from extinction. The scale of homelessness in Seattle is seen in the city's downtown core, in neighborhoods, as well as parks and wasteland. The perception of homeless people remains plagued by addiction, mental health issues, and other negative tropes but many are homeless due to tough breaks in a hard economy, and they are standing up for themselves, taking control and speaking out. In this village in Democratic Republic of Congo, many people are victims of rape. It started with the war, but customs and tradition cause other forms of sexual violence here. USAID provides psychosocial, medical, legal, and economic support to survivors of sexual- and gender-based violence.

About Jenny T.
We have created videos for television, the web, social media sites, and private and community events. Our videos have been seen in over 100 countries and have been shown at the United Nations. We are currently working on a documentary about the world's most critically endangered sea turtle, the Kemp's Ridley, and also in development for multiple television series on international, national and local platforms. We are interested in telling human interest stories (about a 102-year old woman or an 84-year old female skier) and community activist stories (our video about the Beacon Food Forest has over 20,000 hits worldwide). We do have an environmental bent and would love to feature stories about what individuals and communities are doing to protect the environment, whether they are trying to save old growth forests, building the greenest commercial building in the world, or creating a new sustainable technology.
