The scale of homelessness in Seattle is seen in the city's downtown core, in neighborhoods, as well as parks and wasteland. The perception of homeless people remains plagued by addiction, mental health issues, and other negative tropes but many are homeless due to tough breaks in a hard economy, and they are standing up for themselves, taking control and speaking out. Genetic analysis has confirmed that blood-red worms discovered in a sulfur cave in Colorado are a new species that may not be found anywhere else on Earth. These tiny worms could even offer clues to the kinds of life that might be found on other planets. Without access to the internet or social media, inmates miss a lot of the special moments shared between family and friends online. To make up for some of these missed moments, artist Liza Tudor began making flipbooks for people to share with their incarcerated loved ones. YouTube, meet your low-tech stand-in. For hundreds of years, Native Americans have used eagle feathers for religious practices and cultural purposes. In recognition of the significance of these feathers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service established the National Eagle Repository. The Repository stores and distributes bald and golden eagles found dead throughout the U.S. One of a series of testimonial videos I directed, shot and produced for Seattle Central College.

About David L.
A native of Mexico City, I am a seasoned story teller with over 18 years experience working on major brands, both in Latin America and in the United States. Growing up in a city of over 24 million people has taught me many things, including how to get along with other people. Maybe that’s why I love the collaborative nature of my work. When the creative juices are flowing between like minded people is when the work is at its best, and I prefer to be right there in the middle of it. I have little use for the vacuums formed by creative despotism. I love film, photography, art, food, beer and of course music. In fact, music is probably the most influential thing in my life. Just like a good edit is made great by the right music and the right beat my life is constantly being improved with the addition of just the right soundtrack. I love the outdoors, especially any activity that keeps me in tune with the rhythms of nature. Snowboarding and surfing top my list, but I’m usually up for anything and to keep the muscles and joints ready to go I hit the yoga studio while enjoying city life. I try and live my life like taking on a double-black diamond run in knee-deep powder; laidback and fun, but intense and focused all at the same time. I prefer hugs to handshakes and I never leave home without some good music and an open mind.
