In June 2017 I produced a short documentary film for the NGO Solidarités International about the humanitarian aid brought to a place called Opienge, in the northeast of Congo. A place completely cut off of the rest of the world but with thousands of displaced people who had to flee conflict and fighting. The film shows how difficult it is to reach people in forgotten places like Opienge. Franz Lermer failed. At the age of 40 his life was a shambles. His company collapsed and his wife suddenly died. Although he believes in God, he did not know how to continue. This portrait film tells his amazing story. How he found again joy and happiness. And what all of this has to do with a horse ranch... Hermann Frank is a lawyer. He defends people in front of a court. Even if he knows that they have committed a crime. A portrait. 25-year-old Karen Bugingo recently launched her debut novel ‘My Name is Life’, which is a story detailing her struggles as a cancer patient until her recovery. The book aims at bringing hope and courage mostly to the people battling cancer, pay tribute to those who lost the battle to cancer and young people in general, she says. But this tree sap has been prized across the world for over 6,000 years. These fragrant incense pieces come from the Burseraceae family of trees and are found across the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. But despite recent attempts to protect these trees, they could soon be headed for extinction. So what makes frankincense and myrrh so expensive? Families live along the coastline livelihood is fully dependent on the sustainability of the fishery industry. To improve the fishery industry, in 2004 small scale traditional fisheries from southwest Madagascar started using closures on the octopus 2 - 6 months. This helped them to increase the catch. This success led to community to take actions. For the last 50 years, USGS has been collecting data, monitors and analyzes on water, earth, and biological science. Hey! I am a freelance journalist from Germany now living in the Great Lakes region of Africa, more precisely in Gisenyi/Rwanda at the border to the DR Congo. I moved here in 2016. Since 2005 I have been working for several public broadcasting TV stations in Germany and produced reports, portraits, documentaries from 5 min to 30 min. I love my job! It's that simple. It's my passion to find inspiring stories, develop a film idea, write the story board, get it on camera and finalize it in a captivating edit work. Why? That's also simple. Because everyone loves to hear a good story. Beside producing films, I also write as a freelancer for magazines and newspaper. Feel free to get in touch! I have worked for a number of companies and individuals including the Rwanda Broadcast Agency, Tour du Rwanda, Sony Ivory Coast, Coca Cola,... My vast experience has allowed me to gain technical skills behind the camera and develop cinematographic techniques to produce compelling stories. As a Rwandan native, I have been an active participant in my country’s media outreach, working on television production, documentaries, advertisements, and promotional videos. About Habimana R.
I'm a male, aged 22 years old and Rwandese by nationality. I started film making in 2019. I was working as an intern at my friend's film production company. But later on, i felt as most of what i was doing was setting up lights, carrying some boxes, packing up.. So i decided to start something of my own and be independent. So i started doing some free works for gyms, events and musicians. I started growing since then in experience; i also started getting paid for some work. I was mostly renting the gear i was using but few months later, i bought my own camera and lenses. I mainly focus in making commercials, documentaries, travel videos and short films. Now i own a video production company, ' Dawn Films ltd'.
