This documentary follows the aboriginal process of making Mohua, an intoxicating tribal liquor made out of the Mohul flower, which is nutritious and delicious when taken as food as well. From daybreak till wee hour of night these unfortunate tribal folk of western part of India are spurred on this indigenous drink while living practically on a zero resource zone. While the publicity of a contraceptive brand focuses on shuttle sexual emotion of a young maid servant after the obvious find out of that very secret pack desired by the advertiser... Here this film steps in… it enrobes its territory in Kolkata, where every single morning thousands of these thiké jhi (maid servants) from the villages of Bengal, land to ache their bread sans butter... India’s far-right BJP government has been ruling for the elite for the past six years. The richest 10% now own 77% of the national wealth, while over 130 million Indians still live in extreme poverty, an economic gap that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuing to widen through his neoliberal project. redfish travelled to several key states in India to discover the extent of Modi’s cronyism. Last year, nearly 400 girls and women in India were injured or killed in acid attacks. But one group of survivors is not asking for charity. Instead, they have defied mainstream media accounts portraying them as helpless victims, opening a café just minutes from the Taj Mahal that they use to raise awareness about acid attacks. The women who run the café, called Sheroes’ Hangout, consider themselves feminists and fighters, and apart from serving tea and coffee to tourists, they seek out new survivors to teach them how to heal and reclaim their lives. Sheroes documents the arrival of a new survivor to the café as she struggles to overcome her shame and embrace her inner and outer beauty. The film is about memories - a record of places, people and professions that once gone will never return, and of the mysterious beauty of the man-made ruins that mark the transition from the Calcutta of authentic tradition to the new one of "modernity". It's a very personal story told through the eyes of a photographer. Promotional for malda forest division. west bengal government The switch from traditional dug wells to "tube wells"—in which a pipe is drilled into an aquifer — proved fatal in the 1990s, when a high level of arsenic contamination was detected in water from tube wells in Bangladesh and in eastern India. Bangladesh’s sociology-cultural environment always stands on gender discrimination, Girls are often considered to be financial burdens on their family and from the time of birth. Empowering women is still a dream from generation to generation. This film is based on a helpless forbidden young lady of 22 years old who has chosen a profession which is only considered for men. So my film will encourage all the distressed women of the world that if you believe yourself then nobody could stop you .
