Mithun Pramanik is a Kolkata-based filmmaker with more than a decade of experience covering regional news and making fiction and documentary films. He has played every role in the production process, including director, director of photography, producer, and editor. While covering news, Mithun often works as a one-man band, shooting, producing and editing all of his own work. He played a key role as a producer and editor in the film 'Fists of Fury' which won a Gracie award for Al Jazeera America in 2014 and he got 42nd Annual Tele Award for his short documentary on Indian Acid attack survivor in 2021. He has dedicated much of the last four years filming India's indigenous peoples, known as Adivasis. His coverage in India ranges from women's rights, to politics and human rights issues.

Later on adapted himself with the Film and Television media profession. He also completed professional training from BBC(UK), BFDC(Dhaka), CENDIT(New Delhi), CEMCA (New Delhi) ,Deutsch Welle Television Training Centre (Berlin), DUPS(Dhaka), NIMC(Dhaka), STOU (Bangkok) and NHK(Tokyo) respectively. In his professional career Mr. Hasan worked in the Dept. of Film & Publication of Bangladesh Govt. and Bangladesh Open University from 1992-2011 as Program Director /Producer .He began his career as a cine-cameraman and has since become a fiction and documentary film-maker. So far made 85 educational TV programs,23 documentaries & 03 fiction and received 14 impressive International awards for film-making. He also created a historic record by winning three times, the most prestigious ‘The National Federation of UNESCO Japan Prize’ for his three educational films as well as the Tokyo Docs (Color of Asia) Award. Being a researcher; Mr. Hasan presented papers in the 21 international media events till January 2021 and has publication in the reputed international journals. I am a trained director & self-taught cameraman & editor, with more than two decades of experience in documentaries as well as fiction and a Masters degree in film-making from the prestigious Northern Film School in UK. I specialize in bespoke documentary films. My hour-long documentary "India's Frontier Railways - Maitree Express" not only earned a spectacular viewership on BBC but also got excellent reviews for its sensitive portrayal of the people of India and Bangladesh. I worked for channels like BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, Channel News Asia etc., before taking up teaching film & television in under-grad and post-grad courses in Kolkata. My short film 'Tell My Story' was one of the four films selected to represent the UK at the 39th Student Oscars and won the prestigious Royal Television Society nomination in the UK.
