About Jon H.

I'm a filmmaker who has worked on numerous corporate, reality TV, youtube channels, documentary and even a few indie feature films, I am a music composer and on occasion, performer. I'm most interested in the subjects of travel, adventure, music and the arts, as well as cultural anthropology, philosophy and indigenous mythology. I've worked throughout the U.S., in in the jungles of Costa Rica, the wilds of Alaska, the chaotic cities and rural villages of India and along the beautiful East coast of Australia. I've been able to work in nearly every capacity on projects ranging from corporate, industrial, documentary, feature narrative and webisode. My work has been showcased at SXSW, FRIARS COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL, ALAMO DRAFT HOUSE and more places that I'm sure I have not been told about. Some projects thankfully are still "making the rounds". While much of my work consists as Director of Photography and Editor my forte' is conceptual thinking and directing people in such a way as to get the best performance from them, crew or cast.

About Jackson A.

Filmmaker, podcast producer, and radio broadcaster, Jackson has spent the better part of 25 years documenting independent arts, culture and political movements wherever he's been based. For the last 15-plus years his base was Beirut, Lebanon where Jackson directed, shot, and produced numerous documentaries, documentary segments, and branded documentaries in the Middle East, North Africa, the Mediterranean Basin, and parts of Asia. His clients include: T Brand Studios/NY Times, Nike, VICE, Al Jazeera English, CNN Inside the Middle East, Radical Media, BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service, Red Bull Music Academy Magazine, Boiler Room, Red Bull Music Academy Radio, Conde Naste, Iris, Oxford University Press, Goethe Institut, Le Monde, Arte, National Public Radio, Public Radio International, Diageo, Jeep, Art Dubai, Beirut Design Week, Audio Kultur Magazine, Middle East Airlines, 81Designs, and the Zayed Sustainability Prize, among others. Jackson also directs music videos, and works with academics producing film artefacts in areas of ethnographic research and field studies, and has begun working with the Global Studies Department at University of California Santa Barbara to produce podcasts and accompanying films, and is currently producing the podcast This Diaspora Life about the Armenian Diaspora.

About Tamara S.

Tamara Shogaolu has worked in film and media in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the United States. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Egypt, where she conducted socioeconomic research and co-organized the first Cairo Refugee Film Festival. Her latest animated short, HALF A LIFE, was selected to screen at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)’s Doc Fortnight and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Tamara’s work has been featured at festivals in the United States, Europe, and Asia. She was also a Academy Nicholls Fellowship Semifinalist, in addition to placing in other top screenwriting competitions. Tamara holds an M.F.A. from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where she was a Burton Lewis Endowed Scholar for Directing.

Julie Almendral is an experienced and versatile film and television producer, having produced multiple documentaries, episodic series, web series, branded content, news segments and docu-dramas over the past 14 years. She has filmed in 11 countries across 6 continents, including diverse communities across the U.S., and has produced content for HBO, PBS, MSNBC, History, A&E, National Geographic, and online platforms. She has a thorough understanding of all aspects of production, and can create and refine systems of organization and processes, lead production crews in the office and in the field, and manage the entire lifetime of a project. Julie’s area of expertise is media for social good. She holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and is currently studying psychology. Her knowledge base enables her to take a strategic approach to storytelling, and to tackle challenging and sensitive subject matter with curiosity and compassion.
