I'm an Oscar-nominated and two-time Emmy-winning filmmaker and photographer based on the East Coast, USA. I'm the DP and producer of Academy-Award nominated film and Netflix Original "Heroin(e)" and the Netflix Original Documentary "Recovery Boys." As a journalist, I've directed and published short films on The NY Times, The Bitter Southerner, Center for Investigative Reporting, and Mashable, among others. As a commercial director and DP, I've shot films for Marriott, Renaissance Hotels, Facebook, and more. For both documentary and commercial work, I fully produce, direct, shoot, and edit my own films. I also get hired as a DP/shooter and director. I'm also an FAA certified drone pilot with more than six years of experience. For documentary work, I often use a Canon C300III, Panasonic S1H, DJI Mavic 2 Pro, gimbals, glidetracks, and have a large selection of high-quality prime and zoom lenses. For commercial work, I use the Red Komodo and (soon) the Red V-Raptor 8k VV camera. Note: I used to spell my name KERRIN, but now it is CURREN.

As a 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2019 Emmy Award Winner, a 17 time nominated Director, Cinematographer, and Post-Production Editor, De'Niel Phipps has made his mark in the film and television industry for the past 20 years. He has also helped produce television programming for MTV's reality show, "MADE," ESPN, NBC Universal, and a host of other media outlets. Adding to his credits is the short films, "Fin Del Ano,"which premiered at 168 International Film Festival, and Sundance. Born To dp Films which is his creative outlet has produced the short film,"Save Us,"and the long form documentary currently in production, "Something In The Water." He also produces music videos for national recording artists and various genres. His passion for the film and television industry has continued to drive him to new heights. Sam Mirpoorian is an award-winning filmmaker exploring societal themes at the intersection of time, isolation, health, science, + introspection. During his undergrad + grad studies at Indiana University, he made his first doc-short, Little Warriors, which tells the story about youth activism in the space of climate policy. The film was a Grand Prize Winner at the Academy Award-Qualifying, Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. In 2018, Sam edited + produced a doc-short, Destination Park, which examines a mobile chapel located in the heart of a desolate truck stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York + made its online premiere via The Atlantic in 2019. In 2020, Sam’s second doc-short, Sonnie, which follows the serene + poignant life of a single father raising his son, played + won awards from over 40 film festivals across the United States + is a recipient of the Kodak Motion Picture Film Bronze Award for Excellence in Filmmaking. Sonnie won three Regional Emmy® Awards and was acquired by NBC, making its broadcast premiere via Peacock in 2021. In addition to his film work, Sam has directed, shot, edited, + produced national + regional commercial/branded content campaigns for philanthropic + environmental foundations including brands such as Pharrell Williams’ IceCream, Robert Redford’s The Redford Center, the YMCA, NASCAR, Goodwill, Louisville Slugger, High & Mighty, + others.

RECOGNITIONS: I was recently named among the top multimedia photojournalists in the National Press Photographers Association's international Best of Photojournalism contest for my portfolio of video work (March, 2016). I was also named Ohio Photographer of the Year for my still photography (April, 2016). Since 2013, I've received five Emmys from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Ohio Valley Chapter, which covers four states. Whether it's a daily turn or a months-long project, I'm in constant search for the surprising or underexposed. I get special satisfaction in producing pieces on weighty topics, but also like exploring what makes this world bizarre, comical and beautiful. From Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, immigration in Mexico, to my own Midwestern backyard, with every story I do, I learn a little more about our world.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Derek graduated from Northwest Nazarene University's film program in Nampa, Idaho with a degree in Mass Communication. Derek studied Film & Television Production at USC Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, with and emphasis in producing, sound design, and directing. Derek has work on many award winning projects as a sound designer and producer in everything from traditional narrative film, documentaries, live TV, and multi-cam. In addition to his work and studies, Derek is a member of Cinema Audio Society, MPSE, and LA Post Production Group. Derek is currently a production supervisor and in-house sound designer for Lunacy Productions in Santa Monica, CA.

Erica Calhoun is an AP Middle Tennessee award-winning photographer & videographer currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised in Ohio and a 2016 photojournalism alum of Ohio University, Erica has been published in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NPR, Business Insider, Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, as well as other notable publications and gallery exhibitions. Previously, Erica worked as the Content Producer for global non-profit, Soles4Souls. I'm a cinematographer, doc filmmaker and founder of Hard Road Pictures, a small production company with a documentary focus. We produce independent documentaries and mini-docs for media outlets, non-profits, and commercial clients. Our recent projects include the production of a TIME 100 video featuring a New Orleans-based educator reflecting on education in New Orleans ten years after Katrina, and the documentary "Invisible Curriculum" which explores the global youth employment crisis.
