I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I'm an American based in Bogotá, Colombia, with experience working in English, Spanish and French. In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. Most recently, I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories. I'm originally from Berkeley, California, USA and I earned my B.S. from the University of California, Davis in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Art Studio (focusing on video and photography). From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), based in Washington, DC. At OWYP I designed middle school (age 10-14) curriculum and trained university students to teach it around the world in their own communities. The program taught the children cross-cultural communication by empowering them to create and send video, photo, and written messages to their partner classroom abroad - all facilitated by trained university student volunteers. While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling around the world visiting schools and delivering trainings at universities. My work in education and the opportunity to see so much of the world made me realize I wanted to tell stories. Storytelling is the best form of education anyway.

Tom Laffay is a visual journalist, DP and director specializing in working on long term projects in Latin America bringing a cinematic look with journalistic rigor. Currently based in Colombia, he has been dedicated to covering the ongoing violence against human rights defenders over the course of the country's troubled peace process since 2016 and frequently shoots for media like ARD Germany, El Espectador and contributes to The Atlantic and The Guardian. Tom is bilingual (English / Spanish) and travels extensively producing short documentary films for New Media Advocacy Project and IUCN in South America, Africa and the US and since 2011 he has worked with La Isla Network to advance improvements in the agricultural labor sector in Central America. Recently he has begun working as a DP on more narrative films for directors Sean Mattison, Emily Wright and Antonio Santini and is interested in pursuing that path. Tom lives in Bogota, Colombia and is available for assignments in the Americas and just about anywhere else.

Alejandra is a journalist and an empirical photographer, although more the latter than the former. For more than ten years she worked at SoHo, one of the most important magazine in Colombia, seven of them as the photo editor. She used to run a section called “A serious man grimaces and take a joke” in which she has portrayed national life characters such as former President César Gaviria and congressmen Jorge Enrique Robledo and Piedad Cordoba. Today she is focused in her own photograpic proyects and at the same time creating a storytelling studio with some partners in Bogotá. Among the first are her series on albinos, OVEREXPOSED VOL 1, 2, and 3 which have been exposed in Valenzuela Klenner (2011),at The Feria del Millón (2013), 360 Gallery (2014), and “la Cometa” Gallery” (2015). On the other hand, she has worked for many clients as Olga Piedrahita (designer), Pepa Pombo (designer), InFashion Magazine, Magazine Arcadia, Fucsia Magazine, Telefónica, Global Humanitarian, Diageo, Express Jhonnie Walker Brand, Protex, among others.

I am a multimedia journalist covering human rights and socio-political issues, based between Latin America and Southeast Asia. I have reported on sexual violence, internal forced displacement, kidnapping, the reintegration of ex-militants from illegal armed groups into society, and the impact of drug policies on the livelihoods of coca farmers. I have also documented Cambodia’s post conflict rapid development and its impact on the Cambodian population including land grabs, civil unrest and the recession of natural resources. My work has been published on news outlets such as IRIN News , America’s Quarterly, Foreign Policy, CNN International and Le Monde; and I have produced communication materials for humanitarian organizations including Save the Children, CARE, UNICEF, Handicap International and BBC Media Action.

Ty Snaden is a JUNO nominated documentary photographer and emerging filmmaker. His work has been published in the U.S., Canada, and Europe and he has worked with Rolling Stone, Universal Music Group, The National Broadcast Orchestra of Canada, Entertainment One, Toyota and Canon. Ty’s previous photo and mixed media documentary projects include a year long photo essay of the Canadian band July Talk, Why I Fight, a photo series exploring the breaking of gender barriers in mixed martial arts training, and Through Hell, a series of portraits and first person diary entries exploring the people and places affected by addiction. Hi! I am a Dutch journalist and travel writer, living in Bogota, Colombia. In 2014, I left the Netherlands with a one-way ticket to Ecuador, and since then I travelled to almost every country in Latin America, while writing stories for Dutch media on the way. Since 2017 I am living in Colombia. I work as a correspondent for Dutch and Belgian media (writing and photography), as a travel writer for several travel magazines, and I also do production and fixing work for Dutch and Belgian television companies. LAURA OTÁLORA, (Bogotá, Colombia 1989) is an award-winning visual anthropologist and documentary filmmaker. From an early age she wanted to merge social and cultural studies with the visual arts, so she decided to study Anthropology with an emphasis in Art History and Theory at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota. After finishing her degree she traveled to Spain to do a Masters in Visual Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. Later he decided to expand his knowledge in the audiovisual area, starting another Master's Degree in Documentary Film at the Barcelona Film School (ECIB). Since then she has worked in the realization of other documentaries in areas such as methodological research, script, production, DOP and post-production. For three years he coordinated the production company CAD ProducUons, where he developed several projects for international organizations such as the UN and the World Bank, covering topics such as Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Food Security in several countries in Africa, America, Europe and Asia. Among these projects, he directed the documentary interacUvo Kijanal, about the food sovereignty of the indigenous peoples of Chiapas and Yucatan in Mexico. He also worked on the documentary series REDD+ in Africa, for the World Bank, on climate change mitigation in several African countries. In parallel she parUcipated as co-founder of the Cook n Roots project, dedicated to the invesUgation of the roots of gastronomy, through Visual Anthropology, filming diverse cultural ways of understanding gastronomy, developing a broad knowledge of the gastronomic cultures of several countries. In 2019 she directed her first feature film Chef's Diaries Scotland, a documentary where the Roca brothers from the presUgious restaurant Celler de Can Roca, invesUgate about traditional products and cuisines from Spain and Scotland. It won the award for best documentary at the Girona International Film FesUval and was selected for various festivals such as the Malaga FesUval, Sea`le InternaUonal Film FesUval and the Edinburgh InternaUonal Film FesUval among many others. It is also available on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Filmin and Mubi. Since 2019 she returned to Bogota where she works in directing and directing series and documentaries around Colombia. In 2021 the series Dis;l Your World premiered on Amazon Prime Video, in which he did the script and direction of two chapters, this same year he also directed the documentary series Vivas, which will premiere in 2022 on several Colombian TV channels. She is currently directing two feature documentaries: Impermanentes and Capitán. She is also the content director of the workshop Apichatpong Weerasethakul Lab: Filming in the Amazon and is a professor of Documentary Film at the National Film School (ENACC).
