I have experience producing documentary films, writing feature articles, and packaging radio & TV pieces. I'm an American based in Bogotá, Colombia, with experience working in English, Spanish and French. In 2015, following dreams of being a full-time storyteller, I moved to India to co-direct a documentary about an orphanage outside the city of Hyderabad. Most recently, I served as the managing editor at Innovations | Stories, an online publication sharing the stories of social innovators all over the Global South. While at Innovations | Stories I designed and spearheaded a multimedia editorial strategy which allowed for more diverse content (a heavier focus on photo and video stories). As managing editor I supported video and photo freelance contributors from all over the world and designed storytelling trainings for social innovators to tell their own stories. I'm originally from Berkeley, California, USA and I earned my B.S. from the University of California, Davis in Community and Regional Development with a minor in Art Studio (focusing on video and photography). From 2010-2015 I directed a global education program called One World Youth Project (OWYP), based in Washington, DC. At OWYP I designed middle school (age 10-14) curriculum and trained university students to teach it around the world in their own communities. The program taught the children cross-cultural communication by empowering them to create and send video, photo, and written messages to their partner classroom abroad - all facilitated by trained university student volunteers. While serving as program director at OWYP I had the privilege of traveling around the world visiting schools and delivering trainings at universities. My work in education and the opportunity to see so much of the world made me realize I wanted to tell stories. Storytelling is the best form of education anyway.

As photographer and videographer I have worked since 2012 for several NGOs like Peace Boat, Retrak.org, WWF Colombia, Unicef Cambodia, etc, and also some corporate events and tour companies in around the world, where I have had the opportunity to travel to some remote locations in order to plan the shooting, develop the scripts on the ground, shoot with a variety of hight quality gear, edit and deliver the final products for several purposes such as promotional tools, crowdfunding, social causes and documentaries. Tom Laffay is a visual journalist, DP and director specializing in working on long term projects in Latin America bringing a cinematic look with journalistic rigor. Currently based in Colombia, he has been dedicated to covering the ongoing violence against human rights defenders over the course of the country's troubled peace process since 2016 and frequently shoots for media like ARD Germany, El Espectador and contributes to The Atlantic and The Guardian. Tom is bilingual (English / Spanish) and travels extensively producing short documentary films for New Media Advocacy Project and IUCN in South America, Africa and the US and since 2011 he has worked with La Isla Network to advance improvements in the agricultural labor sector in Central America. Recently he has begun working as a DP on more narrative films for directors Sean Mattison, Emily Wright and Antonio Santini and is interested in pursuing that path. Cecilia Traslaviña, animator and visual artist. Master in Literature. She is a professor in the Department of Visual Arts at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia. Her work has different approaches: a personal side where she explores memories and the unconscious from nonlinear narratives in consonance with techniques of the visual arts. Also, she has collaborated with multiple artists and audiovisual schools in the creation of collective artworks, animated documentaries addressing topics from an experimental perspective. She has curated programs about experimental Colombian and Latin American animation which has been presented in multiple venues around the world. She is an active member of Moebius-Animación (www.moebiusaniamcion.com), whose objective is to amplify the voices of Latin American experimental animation. Her works have been selected in many national and international film festivals around the world.

Alejandra is a journalist and an empirical photographer, although more the latter than the former. For more than ten years she worked at SoHo, one of the most important magazine in Colombia, seven of them as the photo editor. She used to run a section called “A serious man grimaces and take a joke” in which she has portrayed national life characters such as former President César Gaviria and congressmen Jorge Enrique Robledo and Piedad Cordoba. Today she is focused in her own photograpic proyects and at the same time creating a storytelling studio with some partners in Bogotá. Among the first are her series on albinos, OVEREXPOSED VOL 1, 2, and 3 which have been exposed in Valenzuela Klenner (2011),at The Feria del Millón (2013), 360 Gallery (2014), and “la Cometa” Gallery” (2015). Hi I'm Angélica Toro. I'm a pianist and a filmmaker and live in Medellín,Colombia. Four years ago I co-founded the production company DeMente Fotográfica now Plano Gorilla. Echoes of the sea, our first documentary short film, was awarded as Best Documentary Short Film on the DocLa Los Angeles Documentary Short Film Festival, and Best Short Film in the 12th Annual Huntington Beach SoCal Film Festival in the United States. Was also showcased in Germany, Canada and Colombia. I think that Colombia is the country of stories, where there's a lot to show that the world hasn't seen yet. I am a multimedia journalist covering human rights and socio-political issues, based between Latin America and Southeast Asia. I have reported on sexual violence, internal forced displacement, kidnapping, the reintegration of ex-militants from illegal armed groups into society, and the impact of drug policies on the livelihoods of coca farmers. I have also documented Cambodia’s post conflict rapid development and its impact on the Cambodian population including land grabs, civil unrest and the recession of natural resources. Multimedia journalist, Laura Gamba was born and raised in Colombia. She graduated from law school, but decided early on she wanted to pursue a career in journalism. She started writing for a Colombian digital magazine and as the editor-in-chief of AlDerecho, the Law School newspaper. She earned her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, where she discovered a passion for radio. Laura reported, recorded and produced audio stories about the organ market in New York, drone regulations and the Zika virus, among others. She has worked for the Nuevo Herald in Miami and Los Informantes, an award winning Colombian TV journalistic program, yet she’s never forgotten her love for radio. María Gabriela Méndez is a social communicator and degree in Literature, graduated from the Central University of Venezuela. He did a master's degree in publishing and cultural journalism at La Sapienza University in Rome. He has worked as a journalist since 1998, in the Venezuelan newspapers El Nacional, El Universal, El Mundo and the weekly EnCaracas. He has collaborated for some magazines such as Arcadia, Gatopardo and Esquire. She is co-author of the Pioneros books. Scenes from the first five years of the National Orchestras System of Venezuela (ArtiCruz Editores, 2012) and Panorama: 46 ways of making art in Bogotá (Rey Naranjo Editores, 2016).
