With a natural talent for sensing the thread of the story and the ability to identify relevant topics for multilevel narrative weaving, like a resonant melody that assembles sounds, silences, and rhythms into a song.

About Andres R.

Andres Rivera is a seasoned producer and media industry creative with nearly 15 years of experience in Latinx streaming & cross-platform content development. Most recently appointed Supervising Producer at NBCUniversal Telemundo, he served as the second-in-command on a pioneering, English-language production designed for mobile devices called #ForTheCultura, which the company licensed to Quibi in 2019 and launched on-time during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. One of the first hires to Telemundo's productions for Quibi, Andres was a key decision-maker in the recruitment, structure and piloting of Quibi's formats. Andres oversaw day-to-day editorial and implemented the show's technical production workflows from pre- to post-production, including overnight "turnstyle" edits designed for mobile, and promotional distribution strategy across YouTube, Instagram; Twitter. Andres brought his past relationships in entertainment news to the show's bookings and ultimately led #ForTheCultura, at its peak, to track among the top 5 daily essentials on Quibi, before the platform ultimately sunsetted its operations in 4Q20. Prior to this role, Andres oversaw digital productions at Univision Communications. During his tenure, the team successfully ideated and delivered several original entertainment/news productions, along with Hispanic creative partnerships campaigns for the likes of Rolls Royce, The Walt Disney Company, Dish Latino, Universal Music & Toyota. Andres joined Univision in 2016 after graduating from college and launching YoungWildPanda Productions, specializing in multimedia commercials, music videos, short films & documentaries. An ambicultural, bilingual "200%er" who lives and breathes the boom Latin influence is having on a new American mainstream, Andres' calling is to connect US-born Millennials & Generation Z-ers to their roots through narrative-shifting storytelling for new platforms. Originally a culture reporter/theater critic in Italy, I came to the US on a Fulbright to focus on documentary production at UC Berkeley’s journalism school. Since then, my work has won awards and screened around the world. In the last few years I have worked between the US, Italy and Mexico, overseeing docuseries and weekly shows. After five years as a producer for AJE’s documentary department in Washington, DC, I worked as an independent in Mexico, producing short to long-form docs across the country. I went on to run a weekly show for Fusion in Miami. I also supervised a ten-part investigative documentary series for VICE in Italy, and then worked for VICE Studios US Hispanics & Latam, exec-producing episodes of the NatGeo/VICE "Explorer Investigation” and developing factual and scripted series across the region for clients like NatGeo, Netflix, A&E and Discovery. With strong editorial skills, I specialize in immersive, investigative and dynamic documentaries. I have a knack for gaining access, directing crews and crafting stories that speak to global audiences and have an impact. At heart, I’m a visual storyteller. I love developing ideas and scripts, and shepherding them through the final cut. I have an eye for talent and for strong characters who can embody and “show” a story rather than just “tell” it. I am fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French.
