Safaricom Limited, is a leading mobile network operator in Kenya. It was formed in 1997 as a fully owned subsidiary of Telkom Kenya. They have Invested heavily into paperless money transfer and home automation. They wanted an immersive experience that would show people where they will be going next. PRC limited was formed with the aim of making it a reality for many Kenyans to own properties. PRC wanted to find a way in which a client would make a site visit to a property without necessarily having to travel hundreds of miles away. This experience revolutionized the property business in Kenya as their clients simply had to wear our vr headsets to be transported into different properties. Rhino Watch Lodge is a small, exclusive, luxurious family style lodge promoting sustainable tourism. This boutique lodge is located around the Mt Kenya region on the Nyeri/Nyahururu highway. This lodge is surrounded by three wildlife reserves; Solio Reserve, Aberdare National Park and the Ol Pajeta Conservancy. This experience was exhibited at the 2016 Tourism Expo in Kenya. Entrepreneurs Haven is a show that bridges the gap between the fantasy and reality of the life of an entrepreneur. It seeks to deep dive into the nitty grits of what it takes to start, grow and run a successful business that has longevity and leaves a legacy in communities and the economy at large. Just like the Tony Elumelu Foundation is shaping entrepreneurs through skill building, masterclasses and peer learning, we are creating online content that showcases the innovation, ingenuity and resilience of African entrepreneurs who narrate the process they have gone through to get their business to where it is. Two filmmakers, Elena and Saitabao, take a Kenyan artifact from a German museum, produce a 3D scan and embark on a journey back to its roots. The only information about the object was that it entered the museum in 1903. Why don’t the museums know more about it? European museum cellars are full of African artifacts, they are stored, imprisoned, treated with chemicals - a loss of culture. Because each of them has its own story. This film takes you on a journey to find answers about this old object from the Kikuyu tribe. With a digital art installation in their package, Elena and Saitabao started a new conversation about the issue of colonial belongings, identity, fear and anger in Kenya. At Sanlam, we recognize the commitment it takes to invest in your child's future. That's why we guarantee the best education for your child with our education savings policy. Led by Educate!, this Accelerator was launched to provide a series of skills-based, intensive training bootcamps, and also a pathway to a safe and sustainable livelihood by equipping out-of-school youth with the skills they need to succeed in the Kenya's high-growth informal economy. This project covered all these aspects of the organization. This project follows three sports women who have qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics but the COVID-19 pandemic forces the games to be postponed to 2021. In the midst of social distancing requirements, cessation of movements, curfews and lockdowns, the women have adapted to training under these conditions, and are gearing up for the games one year away. This project aims to demonstrate how a creative class can become an agent of social, cultural and economic development and how these spaces are currently challenging the acceptance of established social norms on sexuality, gender, religion, minorities, and race. It consists on the creation of five artistic docu-fictions made in virtual reality (VR) on African urban heroes and the creative spaces that they have started. Each episode will be on a different art collective or individual that is currently contributing to reshaping the city landscape. It’s a virtual tour, a VR experience in the most exciting and interesting urban spaces in Africa (starting the first season in Nairobi). The protagonists of the videos will be the space activators, the African creative class.
