I came out to DC from the SF Bay Area to help start a new documentary and podcast production company (Tegna and Vault Studios) but most recently joined Google as an in-house creative producer working on their marketing team. Hello! My name is Nacho Corbella and storytelling is my passion. I love shaping a story, shooting and been in the field, interviewing, and everything else content gathering entails. There's something athletic in the act. You put your whole body and mind into it. It's exhausting but tremendously fulfilling. I enjoy enormously assembling the puzzle of what a multimedia story is. Reviewing and selecting material, deciding which asset is best to convey what the story portrays. It's like writing, but far better. You can have the most beautiful images and incredible bits of audio, but if you don't know how to order them and ultimately make sense of them for the viewer, it's useless. It's like loose words on a piece of paper. That's what I love about editing: you're creating a language. It's a full on mind game. Multimedia is the type of work that I love engaging with and doing, but also the type of work that I think is meaningful and can promote change. I firmly believe is a medium that can reach people and spur them to understand issues fully and, consequently help bring change, especially when done with dedication and quality.

CUTTER HODIERNE is a documentary cinematographer. He has also worked as an award-winning feature film director. His debut feature film FISHING WITHOUT NETS, a story of pirates in Somalia told from the perspective of the pirates, won 'Best Director' at the Sundance Film Festival and was called "Sundance's most beautiful film" by The Wrap. His short film of the same title garnered international acclaim, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance. The short was expanded into the first scripted feature film financed by VICE Studios and distributed by FOX. Cutter was named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film and was a fellow at the Sundance Screenwriter's Lab. Farhan Alam, has been in the film and television industry for over 16 years. He has worked as a cinematographer, director, and editor on many award-winning programs. Recently his feature film, Sawaan, was Pakistan’s official entry to the 90th Academy Awards in the foreign film category. Sawaan has also won numerous awards in film festivals around the world, including best director and best film and can be currently seen on Netflix. With a strong visual eye and a creative mind, I approach storytelling like a puzzle. How can I bring this to life? How can I take a simple idea and give it a voice and a vision? At Voice of America I co-created and launched ‘People in America’ a new visual series and style of storytelling, diving deep in the lives and emotions of various individuals. From Andy Shallal, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, to Maz Jobrani, these are stories unlike others, almost like a candid sit down, allowing the audience to capture the true story behind names and faces. Leading and managing an amazing team of creatives to create moving and compelling stories! While in charge of managing, shooting and producing all newsroom studio shows at USA TODAY, I built successful video platforms with daily franchises for news, money and entertainment. In her ten years with Whole Foods Market, Medley traveled the world documenting the stories of farmers and producers growing our food. As an instructor at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, Medley teaches a class on visual approaches to documenting place. In her capacity as a filmmaker with the Southern Foodways Alliance, Medley has created several documentary film projects that explore Southern culture through stories about food. Medley received her bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Montana and her master’s in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, Xinyan started her journalism career in 2012 working as a producer for BBC News in Beijing covering the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she launched the North America video team for Hong Kong’s flagship newspaper South China Morning Post in New York, and later joined the BBC's Washington DC bureau in 2020 as a senior video journalist.
