My name is Hedayatullah Noori, a reporter, cameraman, video editor, and technician. I was forced to leave Afghanistan with my wife and four teenager children because I had worked as a technician, cameraman and reporter for 13 years for Voice of America in Kabul. I have resettled in Silver Spring, Maryland. I am authorized to work in the United States. I am very interested in finding a job that will allow me to use my skills here in the U.S. and to support my family. As you can see from my resume, I studied electrical engineering and computer science in Afghanistan, but due to my interest in the press, I started working in the media in 2003 for an Afghan newspaper, Hewad, and then for Afghan National Radio and Television as a reporter and cameraman. In 2008, I began working for Voice of America and did so in several capacities. In addition to working as a reporter and camera operator, I also have experience in video editing. Hello there! My name is Spencer Bruttig and I am a Washington, D.C. based film producer, DOP and editor. I came out to DC from the SF Bay Area to help start a new documentary and podcast production company (Tegna and Vault Studios) but most recently joined Google as an in-house creative producer working on their marketing team. I am also the Cinematographer on the D.C. based narrative series "Anacostia," as well as the Baltimore Comedy series "Thespian." I am also the DP on the new reality television show "City Boyz DC." I have worked on sets big and small, and I have used a number of different camera packages from Sony FX and A series, to Red Weapons and Komodos, Canon C series and Black Magic URSAs. Ray Whitehouse (he/him) works at the intersection of documentary film and journalism. After growing up in Chicago, he lived in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to Washington, D.C. He works primarily as a director of photography. His feature-length directorial debut, A RUN FOR MORE, had its world premiere at Frameline in June 2022 and screened more than 30 festivals across the U.S. He served as the Second Unit DP on TO THE END, directed by Rachel Lears, which premiered at Sundance in 2022. BRING THEM HOME, a documentary short he co-directed and DP’d, premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2022. He was part of the Washington Post team that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for reporting about the Capitol insurrection and its aftermath. He’s worked as a cinematographer on more than 20 documentary features and filmed, produced and edited projects for The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, and Univision, among others. He is community coordinator for the D.C. chapter of Video Consortium and a regional co-chair of the Documentary Producers Alliance. He holds an M.A. in documentary journalism from UNC Chapel Hill and a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University. The core tenets of his practice are transparency, collaboration and critical reflexivity.

Hello! My name is Nacho Corbella and storytelling is my passion. I love shaping a story, shooting and been in the field, interviewing, and everything else content gathering entails. There's something athletic in the act. You put your whole body and mind into it. It's exhausting but tremendously fulfilling. I enjoy enormously assembling the puzzle of what a multimedia story is. Reviewing and selecting material, deciding which asset is best to convey what the story portrays. It's like writing, but far better. You can have the most beautiful images and incredible bits of audio, but if you don't know how to order them and ultimately make sense of them for the viewer, it's useless. It's like loose words on a piece of paper. That's what I love about editing: you're creating a language. It's a full on mind game. Multimedia is the type of work that I love engaging with and doing, but also the type of work that I think is meaningful and can promote change. I firmly believe is a medium that can reach people and spur them to understand issues fully and, consequently help bring change, especially when done with dedication and quality.

CUTTER HODIERNE is a documentary cinematographer. He has also worked as an award-winning feature film director. His debut feature film FISHING WITHOUT NETS, a story of pirates in Somalia told from the perspective of the pirates, won 'Best Director' at the Sundance Film Festival and was called "Sundance's most beautiful film" by The Wrap. His short film of the same title garnered international acclaim, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance. Enrique Huaiquil is a Chilean-American award-winning cinematographer, photojournalist, documentary photographer, video editor, and graphic artist based in Northern Virginia. He has covered a wide variety of issues, including the Central American caravans trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border, the aftermath of the earthquake in Puerto Rico, white supremacy in America, COVID-19 intensive care units, and immigration detention centers. Timothy Wolfer is a journalist and filmmaker. For over a decade he has been working on stories of humanitarian aid and migration. His work has taken him to 40+ countries; places like South Sudan to tell stories of the conflict, Bangladesh to cover stories of the Rohingya fleeing Myanmar, Cuba as the country first opened to U.S. humanitarian assistance, and Haiti days after the 2010 earthquake. His latest film The Right Girls follows a group of transgender women headed to the U.S. Border with the 2018 Large Migrant Caravan. This film was distributed on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play. He has also produced numerous, short docs for PBS stations, winning him a regional Emmy. Wolfer was also present on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th filming as a mob breached the building and the footage, he shot there was featured by the New York Times. Justin graduated from Pacific Union College, where he studied Film and Marketing. His Senior year, he produced the short film, Heaven, which took home the award for the school’s Best Senior Thesis. Justin worked on several independent films, such as I Am I and Struck by Lightning, as well as several documentaries, Napa Valley Dreams and CHECK IT. Farhan Alam, has been in the film and television industry for over 16 years. He has worked as a cinematographer, director, and editor on many award-winning programs. Recently his feature film, Sawaan, was Pakistan’s official entry to the 90th Academy Awards in the foreign film category. Sawaan has also won numerous awards in film festivals around the world, including best director and best film and can be currently seen on Netflix. With a strong visual eye and a creative mind, I approach storytelling like a puzzle. How can I bring this to life? How can I take a simple idea and give it a voice and a vision? At Voice of America I co-created and launched ‘People in America’ a new visual series and style of storytelling, diving deep in the lives and emotions of various individuals. From Andy Shallal, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, to Maz Jobrani, these are stories unlike others, almost like a candid sit down, allowing the audience to capture the true story behind names and faces. Leading and managing an amazing team of creatives to create moving and compelling stories! While in charge of managing, shooting and producing all newsroom studio shows at USA TODAY, I built successful video platforms with daily franchises for news, money and entertainment. I have worked with and trained many staff on proper storytelling. Xinyan is an award-winning video journalist and filmmaker based in Washington DC. Born and raised in Wuhan, China, Xinyan started her journalism career in 2012 working as a producer for BBC News in Beijing covering the Asia Pacific region. In 2018, she launched the North America video team for Hong Kong’s flagship newspaper South China Morning Post in New York, and later joined the BBC's Washington DC bureau in 2020 as a senior video journalist. Xinyan's 23-min BBC documentary China’s Science Revolution won the 2015 BBC Storytelling Fund and was Highly Commended for Excellent Online Production at the 2016 AIB Awards. Her 15-min short film for South China Morning Post, Fighting Fentanyl: the Drug from China Destroying American Lives, won the Gold Prize for Best Use of Online Video at the 2019 WAN-IFRA Asian Digital Media Awards.
