About Dylan A.

I have been working in the film, television, and digital video industry for the past 10 years. In those 10 years I’ve worked a slew of production jobs. From a lowly PA, to 1st AC, to Gaffer, to Cinematographer. I’ve pretty much done it all. Every job has provided a different learning opportunity, and an opportunity to hone my craft. In 2016 I was approached by Hearst television to join a new digital studio they were building to promote their networks. This was my opportunity to get behind the camera on a consistent basis and create a vast body of work. I found a passion for telling authentic, impactful, heartfelt stories. I think these types of stories have a special spot in my heart. The digital studio became the cornerstone of digital video content for all Hearst markets. I served as the lead cinematographer at the studio with multiple additional responsibilities. In addition to creating the aesthetic that our team was known for, and shooting a majority of our videos, I was managing our crews in the field, piloting new projects, and editing 99% of the content I was shooting. I helped to build a significant video production team where teamwork and collaboration were the foundation of the studio's success. In 2019 my fiancé matched to her medical residency in Phoenix, Arizona. And I had no choice but to follow my heart and go with her. This meant leaving HTV's Digital Studio and embarking on a new journey. I'm now working freelance in the greater southwest region, taking my skill set and applying it to productions like yours!

After film school, I started my career in New York City as a Production Assistant and editor. It was exciting to balance my time between production and being on set and post production and editing a project for months at a time. My first producing job was a music video for James Taylor. I moved to Los Angeles and produced music videos and commercials. Soon after, I found myself going to Nashville to produce country music videos for Brooks and Dunn, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Martina McBride. I have been nominated for 14 Academy Of Country Music Awards for Producer / Best Music Video and have won the award 5 times. In-between the music videos I would produce commercials for clients such as FORD, Tropicana Juice, Kraft Foods, Varilux, Kia, Jack Daniels and Blue Cross to name a few. ​ Always keeping busy, I moved into Television producing specials and long form DVD's for NBC, ABC and FOX. Some of these include: THE PASSION (FOX - Produced all of the pre tape segments), Olivia Newton John-Live from the Sydney Opera house (a Live 10 camera performance based DVD), WIND IN THE WIRE - Producer for a TV movie for ABC, Rascal Flats, Nothing Like This - (ABC) a behind the scenes look of the band creating a new album. Along with numerous promos for NBC/Universal, Fox and ABC. ​ I've even kept up my editing skills by cutting documentaries for Wings Over Wendy's, Pioneers of the Automobile and several commercials and web series. ​ My philosophy has always been to create a “team” atmosphere with my production crew. Growing up, i worked in the family run dry cleaners, where my dad taught me every aspect of the dry cleaning industry. I learned to deal with the public and manage employees. I have put this same type of experience into producing. Over the years I have learned details of all equipment and I try to stay current with the latest trends in everything from cameras to lighting styles. I have made it a point to learn as much as I can from every department on a movie set or in post production. This comes in handy when budgeting and dealing with problems that arise during production. Because of my experience, I am able to aid in decisions and even think outside the box to come up with solutions to a problem. My background producing commercials, promos, documentaries, music videos and multi-camera shows has taught me that there are many creative solutions to the problems that arise in production.
