Over the past 20 years, I have a flawless track record producing, directing and editing content with world class creative agencies, television and film production companies and Fortune 500 companies which include Yahoo! News, People TV, NBC Universal, Travelocity, Real Time with Bill Maher,  Getty Film, Oracle, Organic, WAG Entertainment, MAK Pictures, 60 Minutes, Harvest Creative, Hint and Thrillist. In 2022, Jon directed and edited the feature documentary, Class of COVID- 19 which recently won the 2022 International Black Film Festival- Nashville Best Long Documentary, Kansas City Film Fest International Audience Choice Award for Documentary Feature and the Silver Remi Award at WorldFest- Houston International Film Festival. The documentary also screened at the Portland Film Festival and the Twin Cities Film Festival. In 2018, Jon directed, produced and edited the award-winning feature documentary film, Uncommon Allies. Uncommon Allies is currently on Amazon Prime, Apple, TV, Roku TV and VUDU. Over the past several years, Jon collaborated with Oscar and Emmy award winning filmmakers on many independent projects.  He was a producer and DP on the feature documentary film, Beyond Laughter and Tears, released in March of 2016 directed by Oscar award winner Doug Blush.  Jon's past experience includes working as a director, producer, DP and editor at Yahoo!.  Jon played a hands-on, key role in establishing Yahoo! as a forerunner in original online video productions.  This was Yahoo’s first step into original TV style series (webisodes) productions.  He directed, edited and produced 5 original webisode series while at Yahoo! focusing on topics such as travel, lifestyle, subcultures, music, news, and politics.  He's worked with TV hosts Bill Maher, Charlie Rose and Richard Bangs.  Jon's last project at Yahoo! was creating a video profile of the President of the United States in the White House Roosevelt Room.  It was the first time in history a sitting president conducted an interview solely for the internet.  This project was a tremendous success and received international attention and millions of video streams. In 1998, Jon was a video producer for the world’s first e-commerce website with broadcast film footage.  The company was acquired by Getty Film in 2000.  He has also produced, directed and edited several short films.

If you are looking for a professional video editor, you have come to right place! But first, a little about my experience and qualifications: My interest in video production really began in college. I discovered early on that a little creativity combined with the right software is key to success in a technology driven world. This understanding enabled me to learn as much as I could about Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, Audition, and Dreamweaver. After four long years, I received my degree in multimedia with a minor in media production the at the University of Nebraska in Kearney in 2018. While I learned a lot during my time in college, most of my video editing experience came from working at KLKN-TV Channel 8 Eyewitness News, an ABC affiliate. Over the past year and a half, I edited more than one thousand shows. Not only did I learn rather quickly the importance of deadlines, I also discovered that finding the perfect balance between working independently and with a team was imperative to the success of the news station. Our team had to make sure that we were creating engaging content every day to keep our viewers interested. I chose to leave the news industry in order to fully open myself to other opportunities that required a little more creative freedom on my end. I believe my skills are easily transferable and my desire to work on projects that require a little more post-production work is unmatched. Growing up on a farm/ranch instilled a strong work ethic. I graduated from Washburn University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in mass media with an emphasis in contemporary journalism and a minor in history. While at Washburn, I served in various capacities for the Washburn Review, including as a writer and managing editor where I led the team to produce our weekly printed edition, ensuring deadlines were met and quality was maintained. Around the same time, I started writing for SpaceFlight Insider and eventually served as its managing editor where I helped grow the website's traffic from under 120K to roughly 300K monthly viewers. I have been a singer/songwriter my entire life. My mother, however, was the only videographer out of an entire polynesian communtiy. Somewhere between touring Europe on a music contract at 17 and marrying my best friend and having 4 children, I have become my mother and love videography. Started out with weddings and made a killing and then editing was taking all of my time. I have now transitioned into more of what I can direct and create. Currently I have been helping more with small businesses, with social media presence and social media advertisements. I create "shorts" conent as well as docustyle film.
