At a young age, his interests were art, magic, puppets, computers, special effects make-up, and most of all, making home movies with his family and friends. Jason is thrilled that he has had the opportunity to continue to explore those same interests in his professional life. In his entertainment career, Jason has been given some amazing opportunities in the worlds of Puppetry, Photography, Design, Marketing, and Live Event Production. In 2007, he decided to move to Chocó in where he developed photographic essays on the problems caused by the internal armed conflict in Colombia. He has developed projects for OXFAM, GTZ, DIAKONIA, USAID, MDM, ACDIVOCA, OSF, WWF and has worked with the United Nations (UN) and its various offices, programs and organizations (UNDP, OCHA, PAHO, WFP, UNHCR) in Colombia. It also collaborates with International press agencies (Reuters, AFP, AP, EFE) in Colombia. Between 2016 and 2017 he was a field producer for National Geographic magazine Society of USA, about a special about Colombia. He currently lives in Bogotá, collaborates with the Miami Herald, Publik de Germany, The League Against Silence, the United Nations Political Mission in Colombia, while developing personal projects. Nominated for the Pulitzer Prize 2019 with the Miami Herald team, for the "Dirty Gold" work. Nominated for the Gabo Award in 2019 in the Coverage category, for work in a “Captive Border” team.
