Ismail Zulfic is a 10-year-old boy from Bosnia and Herzegovina who was born without arms and with a deformed foot. But his parents and an inspirational swimming coach have helped him overcome his physical limitations. The Bosnian War destroyed many landmarks, including a 16th century mosque in the town of Foca. Turkey rebuilt the mosque in 2019, but this time, it’s the pandemic that’s keeping its doors all but shut. Kosovo is home to many species of native eagles, and photographers have long relished the opportunity to take snaps of them in the wild. According to the Danish Refugee Council, Croatian police are allegedly robbing and pushing back dozens of them. The Croatian government has denied the allegations, saying they are working with the EU to prevent another migrant crisis. Semir Sejfovic reports from both sides of the border.
