I’m a self-taught Videographer and Filmmaker. Since aged 17, I’ve specialised in the different processes of capturing light, photography, moving image & visual effects. In 2010, together with JM Suarez, we start MURILLO FILMS, a production company based on the Colombian Caribbean that produces films. In 2012 I received the India Catalina at Cartagena Film Festival for "Ebony", a video-art that evokes reflections on the problems experienced by African descents, as a minority population of our country. My latest project is the FICBAQ International Film Festival of Barranquilla, where I am the director and the artistic curator. JEREMY DUPIN Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Jeremy is a freelance producer, filmmaker and journalist. Dupin has produced almost a dozen documentaries during the last 9 years in Haiti for different prestigious networks in the United States, Europe and Latin America. He produced the Peabody award-winning documentary Haiti In a Time of Cholera for Fault Lines. He is the recipient of the first Alfred I. Dupont Columbia University Award for Haiti Six Months On, a film that he produced for Al Jazeera English, He’s also an Emmy Award winner producer for the documentary “Haiti at the time of Cholera” for Al Jazeera English. He shoots, Edits and produces news package on almost a daily basis for a number of international networks, from the Americas and Europe. Dupin speaks Haitian Creole, French, Spanish and English.

Since 2008, Jaime Villa Ruiz has honed his craft as a filmmaker to create striking moving images that tell a story. Starting as an Art Department Coordinator and Set Dresser, Jaime later transitioned to working behind the camera. His projects have taken him around the world with clients like Amazon Studios, Awesomeness TV, ESPN, Fandango, Facebook Watch, Flex, HBO, LA Metro, Lifetime/ AE, Nike, Tastemade, and many more. In 2014, he won a Craft Award at NYU’s First Run Festival for his cinematography in the short The Banaue Boy. His first feature film as a cinematographer, Pecado Original, won Best Foreign Film at the DTLA Film Festival in 2018, continuing its festival run at the Austin Film Festival and the Chicago Latino Film Festival among others. The film is now distributed by HBO and AppleTV+. Recently, he shot and directed Pachyman’s El Benson music video. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jaime enjoys aromatic Caribbean coffee, boxing in the mornings, reading anything from self-help books to revolutionary history, and pointing his film camera at anything light touches.

About Zuriel R.

In order to create innovative media, Zuriel Ramos founded ZURA Film Productions in 2011. He completed his studies in May 2012 in Tele Radial Communication at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo. Belong to several films student organizations including Paieca, along with several colleagues of the organization made two short films Nymphs, the search for the perfect woman and Arasibo, winner of the "Best Student Film 2010" award in Rincón Film Festival. His work experiences have been enriching, he has had the opportunity to work with a variety of projects in the media. He was part of a theater and television company Happy Productions, also work on the main TV channels of the country as WIPR, as a production assistant in "Esta de Show" program and Asi Canta Puerto Rico. Also work on several projects for television and movie production house with XCL-TV. Currently, Zuriel Ramos has acquired and developed the necessary skills to lead all work within the field of communications.

Puerto Rican filmmaker known for his documentary work and music videos. In 2001 he began as director, videographer and editor in the award winning Geoambiente, on which he travelled through the island's natural habitats and cities, working with scientists and communities to reflect on current environmental challenges. In 2005, he directed and edited the feature documentary "Aljuriya", which examined the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from the perspective of activists involved in the struggle. Gabriel is also recognized for his Emmy Award winning musical feature “Sono, Sono, Tite Curet” (2011), the bio of a legendary musical composer and his legacy throughout Latin Amercia, and New York. In 2014, he was the recipient of the international fund Doctv for his feature documentary “Armonía”, about the struggle of a small town unemployed music teacher. He has also worked as freelance editor and videographer in feature films, documentaries, music videos and commercials.

Cristian Carretero is a filmmaker originally from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He graduated with a B.A. in liberal arts from Sarah Lawrence College, and also studied cinematography at FAMU (Prague). In 2014 he received his MFA from New York University. His films are mainly concerned with the contemporary Puerto Rican and Caribbean reality. In 2016 he won two Emmy Awards for producing the documentary “Semillas” and the science television show “LCC” both made for WIPR TV. His original work has screened at BAM Cinematek, Anthology Film Archives, Montreal Film Festival, Denver Film Festival, Habana Film Festival, Sydney Latin American Film Festival, San Francisco Short Film Festival, Clermont Ferrand Film Festival, just to name a few. In 2013 his acclaimed short about dominican immigration, "Yolanda" won Best Short Film at the Festival de Cine Global Dominicano, Screen Loud Film Festival at the Anthology Film Archives, and the Carl Lerner Award for social significance, among other international recognitions. His short film "This Island”, commissioned by the French Institute, won Best Short by at the Festival de Cine Europeo. In 2015 he produced the experimental short “Diptico” commissioned by the “Santurce es Ley” urban art festival. In 2016 he finished a short shot in Harlem, New York, titled “The Ticket”, which debuted in the Habana Film Festival. He currently works as a freelancer collaborating with companies including National Geographic, CNN, i24, CienciaPR, among others.

Álvaro Aponte Centeno has a variety of artistic formations including musical education at Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, film theory and communication courses at the University of Puerto Rico. He has master courses that include history and Puerto Rican Literature and the Caribbean at the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. He began his career making television documentaries for the channel of state in which he served as editor, cinematographer and director. He's second Short Film My holy gaze was the official selection in competition at the Cannes Film Fest. on 2012. On that same year was part of the official selection in competition at the Melbourne Int Film Fest, Australia; Stockholm Int Film Fest, Int Fest of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, Cuba and Hong Kong Int Film Fest. AAC just finished writing he's first feature film. He was recently selected to participate on a Sundance Workshop Lab for emergent screenwriter and director.
