My goal as a journalist is to inform, educate, engage, and inspire my audience. With Journalism today, I find it more important than ever to provide a well-balanced and objective approach. Since licensing my first photograph series to both NBC and CBS in the Spring of 2011, I have become increasingly active since graduating from Northern Arizona University and the Student Media Center newsroom. After graduation, I was hired by the Southwest Learning Community division of the National Park Service to produce and complete a series of micro-documentary projects focusing on the Arizona park system. Since then, I have continued my battle in the trenches of multimedia. Making something out of nothing by creating work through partnerships and the collaborative execution of such grand schemes conceived by the minds of mice and men. Andrew Stanbridge has been traveling and photographing throughout Southeast Asia for the past 15 years. His first work documented the continuing modernization of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, which continues to be a theme that he returns to frequently. While traveling through these countries (particularly Cambodia and Laos) his interest was piqued by the histories of conflict that his own home country of America had been involved in and the recovery from the aftermath of these conflicts. For the past 5 years he has concentrated on this theme by addressing the physical, emotional and cultural scars left from the various wars fought in these countries. During this time he has spent time clearing and photographing unexploded ordnance, gone on patrol with ragtag armies and spent countless hours hearing the stories of those whose lives have been affected by the vestiges of war. Michael Hanson is an Oregon-based photographer/director represented by National Geographic Creative. Originally from the Midwest, I currently live in Portland, Oregon with my wife, Melissa, and our two dogs and cat. I received my MFA in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and a BA in Film Studies from the University of Michigan. My film and video work has appeared in film festivals and been featured online at PBS, NPR, Comedy Central, Bust, Interview Magazine, GQ, the White House blog, Nylon, The Huffington Post, Jezebel and Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In blog.
