About Rachel V.

Rachel is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker, content producer and translator with vast experience in the American media market. She is the owner of MOXYDOX, a small production company based in São Paulo, and works primarily as a Director, Producer and Editor. In 2019, she was an AD, researcher, script collaborator and grant writer on the doc feature "My Darling Supermarket", premiered at IDFA (Netherlands) and at MOMA's Doc Fortnight (USA). Prior to that, she received a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelors degree in Film from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). She is a former associate producer at Storyhunter Headquarters in Brooklyn, and her work has been published by Al Jazeera, Fusion, Bloomberg and Nationswell. EMILIA MELLO (director/producer/photographer) is a Brazilian-American filmmaker raised between West Virginia and São Paulo. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University with a degree in Biology and in Latin American Studies. Her first foray into film brought her to black tarp camps of the MST, a communist agrarian reform movement in Brazil. She has since produced for Norwegian reality TV, commercials, and short documentaries as well as for the Oscar nominated documentary film, Wasteland. She is working on her first feature documentary about a peninsula in southeastern Rio state.
