Prior to moving to Buenos Aires, she worked as a writer, reporter and on-air host for media outlets in Washington, DC. Vanessa produced an award-winning documentary that tells the story of a community and its relationship with the hunting of whales and dolphins in Taiji, Japan. She holds a master’s degree in Interactive Journalism and Public Affairs from The American University in Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Jacksonville State University. Among her accomplishments, she was awarded a full athletic scholarship for NCAA Division I women's tennis and was also the women's doubles 4A Texas State champion.
