Hey! I am a freelance journalist from Germany now living in the Great Lakes region of Africa, more precisely in Gisenyi/Rwanda at the border to the DR Congo. I moved here in 2016. Since 2005 I have been working for several public broadcasting TV stations in Germany and produced reports, portraits, documentaries from 5 min to 30 min. I love my job! It's that simple. It's my passion to find inspiring stories, develop a film idea, write the story board, get it on camera and finalize it in a captivating edit work. Why? That's also simple. I'm a freelance producer and editor. I grew up in Slovakia where I studied Journalism, and later moved to New York City to study Film Production and Screenwriting at The New School. While in school, I wrote and produced a number of short films and won the Rena Down Award for my feature script Crushing. I have worked in many different ares of production. Until recently, I was an Associate Producer for Magnet Media Films where I had a opportunity to create videos for brands such as Adobe, Cisco, Google, Chase , Spike TV etc. In 2017, I produced and co-edited a virtual reality short film about human trafficking called In the Shadows which premiered in January at VR Fest 2018 in Las Vegas. I love the challenge of bringing an idea or concept to life, considering not only the creative possibilities of a script but also the logistical realities and crafting a harmony between the two in order to achieve an optimal outcome that all those involved can be proud of.
