Alex Pritz is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning documentary filmmaker based in New York City. Recently, Alex directed The Territory, which premiered at Sundance 2022 where it won both the Audience Award and a Special Jury Award for Documentary Craft. The Territory was shortlisted for the 2023 Academy Awards, nominated for three Critics Choice awards, a Gotham Award, a Producers Guild Award, and a record seven Cinema Eye Honors where it won for Best Debut Feature. The Territory was named a NYT Critics Pick, and was acquired by National Geographic Documentary Films for a theatrical release in the United States, Canada, the UK, Brazil, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and the Netherlands. The film is now available globally on Disney+. Alex won an Emmy for his work as a cinematographer on the feature documentary The First Wave (dir. Matt Heineman). He was also a cinematographer and field producer on Jon Kasbe’s feature documentary, When Lambs Become Lions (Tribeca 2018), and a co-director, cinematographer, and editor on the documentary short, My Dear Kyrgyzstan (Atlanta 2019). Alex is a co-founder of Documist, and has received grants from the Sundance Institute, IDA Enterprise Fund, Catapult Fund, Doc Society, and was named a 2023 BAFTA Breakthrough Fellow. Alex holds a B.Sc. (Ag. & Env.) from McGill University where he studied Environmental Science and Philosophy. In 2012, he received an inaugural Dalai Lama Fellowship for his work developing film curriculums alongside low-income communities in the Philippines. Alex has received Hostile Environments and First Aid Training, and studied French at the Middlebury Language Schools as a Kathryn Davis Fellow for Peace.

For more than a decade I have worked as a field producer and journalist covering stories in the U.S. and overseas, including the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Right now I am a freelance multimedia journalist/reporter based in New York City, but I am happy to travel for an assignment. My most recent long-term field assignment was on the campaign trail for U.S. Election 2020 to cover Joe Biden and his presidential victory. I also traveled during the height of COVID-19 last year to California and Ohio to conduct interviews for a production company in the health care space. As a freelance journalist, I have covered the United Nations for networks like Al Jazeera and i24NEWS. When massive protests broke out in Puerto Rico in 2019, I was one of the first mainland journalists to arrive on the island to cover the “forgotten Americans” amid a political crisis. I did live reports and was on-air for back-to-back coverage for i24NEWS and Cheddar News. I recently wrote an article for the Christian Science Monitor that looks at how racial groups are uniting in solidarity against anti-Asian hate crimes and what that means for social justice movements like #StopAsianHate and #BlackLivesMatter. I have also written for the Daily Dot on topics such as the Trump administration's attacks on Planned Parenthood; white privilege; and the role of social media in Puerto Rico's demonstrations.

Danny Ghitis (b. 1982) is an editorial and commercial photographer whose personal projects revolve around the relationship between memory and identity. The son of Jewish South American immigrants, he moved around a lot as a child, which helped him to develop a lifelong interest in documenting the lives of strangers and culturally ambiguous communities.
