About Sarah G.

Sarah Ginsburg grew up in the magical Midwest town of Columbia, Missouri. She went on to study Film Production at Emerson College in Boston, which is where she lives and works as a filmmaker today. She edited for the award-winning interactive Hollow and shot and edited for Boston-based interactive Wander, Wonder, Wilderness. Sarah recently finished shooting and editing a feature documentary titled Best and Most Beautiful Things. She wandered into the audio world and started a podcast with Elaine Sheldon that features women working in media. The podcast is called She Does and is now part of Panoply, Slate's podcasting network. Sarah is fascinated by the overlooked and challenges herself to illuminate even the tiniest ingredients that make up our everyday.

About Myra B.

Perhaps one of the most significant lessons I have learned is mastering rhythms, and creating stories. My skills come from editing corporate videos, TV commercials, documentaries, short movies, feature trailers, and music videos. These projects were made for different parts of the world, such as Lebanon, Egypt, Denmark, USA, Sarajevo, Yemen, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, France, Germany, Italy, Dubai, Jordan, UK, Pakistan. I was born and raised in Lebanon, a place open to diversity. I speak three languages, English, French and Arabic. I obtained my BA in 2006 in filmmaking, my honorary masters in 2009 in TV production. I have created and wrote two television comedy shows since 2010. That year, I also was teaching film-editing techniques for college students. The opportunity of supervising the student’s final projects, gave me an absolute pleasure. Come 2012, I moved to Boston, USA and embarked on a new adventure, expanding my experiences in the languages of reason and emotions.

I am a passionate storyteller and digital filmmaking is my medium of choice. I am always looking for ways to connect people and I enjoy wearing many hats on a project. I work mainly in the advertising/digital content, documentary and nonprofit spaces. I pride myself on attention to detail and work ethic, and have a variety of experience directing, editing, producing and other similar roles. My main focus is to lead projects, but I am also happy to come on as a part of a larger team. My background in audio also allows me to fill roles in sound mixing and editing. I have worked on all kinds of projects pre-production through post-prodution, under tight deadlines, and with high profile talent, and loved every minute. I was 6 years old when my parents bought home a brand new Panasonic VHS Camcorder. Being able to film and watch back everything we did that day was the greatest feeling in the world. I've made it my mission to make as many movies as I could growing up. To me, there is nothing more powerful than capturing the world and preserving moments. About David W.

David Helfer Wells is a film-maker and photographer who divides his time between Providence, Rhode Island and Bangalore, India. One day you can find him creating still and moving images for clients, such as Edible Rhody and the Providence Preservation Society on the unique local culture of America’s smallest state. Other days he may be working on personal/grant funded projects on the beautiful Narragansett Bay with the support of Rhode Island’s Council for Humanities and State Council on the Arts. In India’s “Silicon City” Bangalore, he is busy creating visual narratives for clients such as Bryn Mawr College and Aramco World or working on personal/grant funded projects supported by the Fulbright and Alicia Patterson Foundations. He has worked on assignment for such magazines as Fortune, Life, National Geographic, Newsweek, The Sunday New York Times, and Time, among others. One editor described him as a “…specialist in intercultural communication and visual narratives that excel in their creative mastery of light, shadow and sound, stills and video.” His project on the pesticide poisoning of California farm workers was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize by the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also worked for corporations such as Consolidated Natural Gas and DuPont as well as for non-profits such as the Ford Foundation and the New Israel Fund.

Alec Figuracion is a 26-year-old independent filmmaker who has a degree in Psychology at University of Santo Tomas, and a diploma in Filmmaking from the International Academy of Film and Television in Cebu, Philippines where he was given the "Special Award in Directing" as a recognition for his short thesis film, “Tangible”. At the age of 22, he was given the opportunity to direct his feature film, "Bitukang Manok”, for Cinema One Originals 2014 which won “Best Cinematography”. His second feature, “The Eternity Between Seconds” for CineFilipino Film Festival 2018, won “Best Picture”, “Best Director”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Editing”, and “Best Sound”. It was also exhibited as part of “A Window to Asian Cinema” section in the 2018 Busan International Film Festival, and won “Best Screenplay” at Cape Town Film Market 7 Festival 2018. Alec also works as a freelance editor and his work includes “1st Sem” for CineFilipino 2016, “Hinulid” for QCinema 2016 starring Nora Aunor, and an assortment of short video projects and digital advertising.

CHRISTIAN DE REZENDES – Director, Producer, Cinematographer and Editor. Through his company Breaking Branches Pictures (est. 1996), Christian has received over 35 filmmaking awards for his work as a Director, Cinematographer and Editor. He has over 20 directing credits, and many of his films have been distributed, screened internationally at film festivals, and have been broadcast regionally on PBS. His films cover a wide range of topics such as the Station Nightclub fire, art therapy, epilepsy, children with special needs, spirituality and faith-based services, LGBTQ rights and historic preservation. Christian has directed and produced critically acclaimed and award-winning films, including the documentary features Alzira’s Story (2000), 41 (2007) and Raising Matty Christian (2014), and the fully improvised dramedy feature Getting Out of Rhode Island (2003). His short documentaries such as Zach: A Film about Epilepsy (2009), Thinking Through the Drink (2010) REVEALED: Portraits Beneath One’s Surface (2011), Fred and Emile (2015), Fueling Fierce: The Shannon Heil Story (2016) and Love Is the Energy (2019), have also received international attention. Christian has also directed multi-award-winning short narratives, such as the comedy Cat Scratch (2012), and Memories for Sale (2013), a short drama based on the play by Jerry Bisantz, and in a co-production with Image Theater in Lowell, MA, and the comedy It Might Be Me (2016). In 2014, Christian directed and edited the feature doc Raising Matty Christian, about the life of Matthew G. Christian (1983-2009), who was born without full limbs and accomplished inspiring acts. The film won 10 top film festival awards including the Best of Fest Audience Award at the Woods Hole Film Festival and has been officially selected by 16 festivals nationwide. The film is now available through Amazon Prime. He is currently directing the historical documentary series Slatersville: America’s First Mill Village. The film will be his most ambitious work to date, and is slated to premiere in 2021. Christian continues to offer film production and post-production services for corporate, commercial and non-profit clientele throughout New England in the fields of medical equipment, ballet performance, faith-based youth programs, services for troubled youth, health care, jewelry sales, traffic engineering and energy medicine schooling, musical performance and the homeless.... to name a few.
