Misha Vallejo was born in 1985 in Riobamba, Ecuador. He is a documentary storyteller whose work focuses in Latin America and Europe. In 2014 he completed his MA in Documentary Photography at the University of the Arts London. Among other distinctions, he won the 2020 Documentary Production Funds of the Ecuadorian Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Creation for his first documentary feature film. Also, he has won the Goethe Institut and Prince Claus Fund for Cultural and Artistic Response for Environmental Change (Germany & Netherlands, 2018), the Photo Europe Network Prize at the PhotOn Festival in Valencia (Spain, 2018), he was selected for the Docking Station artist-in-residence program in two occasions (Netherlands, 2019 and 2020) and won the Ecuadorian National Arts Prize Mariano Aguilera (2015). In 2016 he published his first photobook Al Otro Lado (Editora Madalena, Sao Paulo), which was selected among the best author photobooks at the Rencontres de la Photographie festival in 2016 (France), obtained the only honorable mention at the prize Felifa-Fola (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and was selected as the best photography book in Brazil in that same year, among many other international distinctions. In 2018, Spanish publishing house RM released his second photobook Siete punto Ocho, which won an honorable mention at the contest Pictures of The Year Latin America 2019 and was featured at the Athens Photo Fest (Greece, 2019). Recently, the same publishing house released his third book Secret Sarayaku, which is part of a transmedia documentary project that also includes an interactive web platform www.secretsarayaku.net and an exhibition. Among others, his personal work has been shown at the LUMIX Festival of Young Visual Journalism (Hannover, Germany 2020), Bronx Documentary Center (New York, USA, 2018), at the Rencontres de la Photographie festival (Arles, France, 2018), at the Budapest Photo Festival (Hungary, 2019), at the International Photography Festival of Valdivia (Chile, 2019) and in several solo exhibitions throughout Latin America and Europe. His editorial and personal work has been published in such media like The New York Times Lens, VICE, GEO, Marie Claire, Esquire and many others. He has given talks and workshops in photography and audiovisual storytelling in Latin America and Europe, a highlight of which was his participation at the 3rd Latin American Colloquium of Photography in Mexico City, 2018. Currently he is based in Ecuador and works in film and photography throughout Latin America and Europe.

CoopDocs nace como una red de colaboración en la que se colectivizan los proyectos que cada uno trae consigo y colaborativamente se los viabilizan gracias a la experiencia, experticia y talentos específicos de sus integrantes, sin que la ubicación geográfica sea una limitante. Reconocemos al cooperativismo como el modo de gestión para la producción audiovisual comprometida con procesos sociales y comunitarios. Fomentamos un espacio de colaboración, a través del cual se puedan viabilizar muchos de nuestros proyectos individuales que han quedado estancados por falta de apoyos económicos, institucionales y sobre todo de tiempo y equipo humano. Mirando este elemento común, decidimos abrir un espacio en la periferia de la industria de la producción audiovisual comercial, gestionado directamente por los socios y socias y funcione como espacio de apoyo, colaboración, generación de recursos que permitan dignificar nuestro trabajo y apoye a la creación y difusión de materiales comunicacionales al servicio de organizaciones sociales, comunidades y causas sociales con las que nos identificamos. OBJETIVOS -Generar un espacio de crecimiento profesional y económico para los y las integrantes. (generación de ingresos que dignifiquen la labor profesional comprometida. -Apoyar comunicacionalmente a organizaciones sociales y comunidades para amplificar sus voces, luchas y procesos organizativos. -Aportar al fortalecimiento organizativo a partir de la formación y capacitación de los integrantes de organizaciones sociales y comunidades que se involucren en los procesos de producción comunicacional. -Aportar en la producción audiovisual, proyectos personales de los y las integrantes de la cooperativa, asi como tambien de proyectos en marcha de organizaciones sociales, ongs o procesos organizativos.

Dominique is an ecuadorian cinematographer and holds a BFA degree in Film from the University of Arts of Ecuador. In 2016 she started to work on fiction projects and documentaries as cinematographer, these projects have been screened at top-tier film festivals and film markets around the world: Long-legged Nuria (Honorable Jury Mention 8th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival) Rosita (Winning Best Short documentary at 9th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival), Martha con 升 (Jury Honor Mention at La Orquídea International Film Festival) and other short films that have been screened on International Film Festivals around the world as the Vancouver International Film Festival or film markets as the Cannes Shortfilm Corner, build her experience as cinematographer. Dominique is a cinematographer who seeks to build images from other artistic places that are not necessarily the cinema, creating an innovative visual aesthetic, trying to achieve different visual sensations through light, textures, and movement. When Dominique was younger she worked as camera assistant with one of the biggest film equipment rental house in Ecuador, that experience gave her the opportunity of working in some many projects for ecuadorian production companies and international projects and to share film sets with great cinematographers. When Dominique is not working she sits to see the sky and the sunsets.
