Realization of interviews and b-roll of a Uyghur family in Italy. For decades, Uyghurs have experienced ethnic and religious discrimination in Xinjiang and they have been subjected to various forms of torture and ill-treatment. This family is now living in Italy, yearning for reunification with their children trapped in China. Realization of a video interview, with b-roll and audio capture for The Washington Post. The conflict between the Houthi Shiite rebels supported by Iran and the Yemeni Sunni government supported by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition has been going on for almost 4 years, causing the death of 17,000 people. In a nation of nearly 29 million, 22 million Yemenis are in need of humanitarian assistance, according to the UN. In this context, civilians are enduring an inhuman situation, deliberately targeted by aerial bombardments, missiles, snipers, crossfire, antipersonnel landmines and stray bullets. Yemen's depleted health ministry relies on humanitarian organization to provide medical care, but the country is on the brink of famine. Almost 85,000 children have starved to death so far. A mosaic of stories from the forgotten war in Yemen, seen through the eyes of humanitarian operators and civilians, trapped in a life of violence and disease.
