About Iacopo D.

I was born in 1982 in Naples, Italy. With an Italian father and a mother who is a mixture of French and English, I’ve always had lots of opportunity and desire to explore different cultures. I spent my school years in my home city studying fine arts, architecture and sculpture at the Liceo Artistico (an art school). At 18 I moved for the first tome to the UK to study Film, Media and Video Production at New Bucks College. Since graduating 2003 I’ve lived and worked in the UK, Spain and Australia, but more importantly established a filmmaking career that has taken me all over Europe. My fluency in Italian, English, Spanish, French and international experience within the film and video industry has also led to many international film and theatre companies employing me as part of their Italian production team. Since 2015 I'm established in Bristol where I work as Multimedia Officer for the University of the West of England. Released in 2018, my short film "N" was shown in more than 50 festivals around the world and has won several awards.

About Alberto M.

Growing up in a small city in northern Italy he moved to Rome in 2001 to study as cinematographer and camera operator at Cinecittà. After 15 years working in the camera departments of the most important Italian directors (Garrone, Vicari, Avati, Bellocchio) he started to work as a cinematographer throughout Italy and Brazil. His latest project, "The Silence" (2016) by Ali Asgari was included in the Official competition Palm D'Or at Cannes Festival.

I'm an independent producer/DP and film director from Rome available for assignments in Italy and abroad. I am a humanist with a Bachelor degree in Literature and Philosophy and a Master in Cine/TV Production and Management. Journalist and filmmaker based in Italy with over 10 years experience, covering major news stories in Italy and abroad, specializing in immigration and social issues. For the past three years I have been working as video journalist for a national video news agency, Alanews, Ansa’s partner video agency, covering a wide range of stories such as the earthquakes in center Italy, former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi resignations, Italian Constitutional Referendum and political crisis, 2018 Italian general elections, the migrant crisis and the G7 in Taormina. Previously I worked as visual journalist for La Repubblica in Parma and print journalist in Palermo. I also have a strong background as video producer, realizing reportage about migrant crisis, mafia and legality for non-profit organization like MEDU and Fondazione Progetto Legalità.

I am a video journalist based in Rome, Italy. I can shoot (XD Cam Ex Sony, Panasonic), edit (FCP, Premiere), produce and write packages as well as live broadcasting (Aviwest, liveU). I am also able to do live stand-ups for TVs, radio interviews. I speak French, Italian and English fluently. I covered wars (Lebanon-Israel in 2006, Georgia-Russia in 2008) and natural catastrophes (earthquakes in Italy, floods in Venice etc). Our clients span across business sectors: technology, fashion, design to food, wine and hospitality. And we’ve produced non-fiction television content that has gone on to air internationally. That’s how I’d sum up Modio Media, the company I founded with my partner, Gia Marie Amella, in Chicago in 2006. I have various roles at Modio Media. I handle daily business that includes developing projects, making client presentations, overseeing freelance staff and creating budgets. On the production side, I alternate between sound recordist and cameraman. For more complex projects, I supervise hired freelancers through each production phase. In the studio, I edit audio and video, create simple 2-D animation, and produce original music and sound tracks. For editing, I use FCPX and Motion. Pro Tools and Izotope Music Production and Post Production Suite plug-ins are essential tools that I use to clean, equalize, master, and optimize tracks that conform to standard audio levels for television, digital, and radio.
